It's not the same Gothic I tell ya. And the new hero's face looks like an emo-vampire.
I own all the Gothic games (even the 3rd and it's crappy addon) + Risen also by Piranha Bytes. Bought all of them on launch day. This one though I'm gonna pirate to hell... Razz

I remember my experience with gothic 3:

-see Troll
-start firing arrows
-run a mile shooting arrows
-run some more shooting arrows
-pray that you dont find something to aggro you while you do this
-repeat steps 2 - 5 a milion times 'till troll is dead.... hopefuly, with a shitload of luck.

So yes, i loved gothic 3, but never finished it because i found it freakin hard as hell Laughing

Thanks!

Judging by the gameplay mini-map it looks like the place in that vid is just below the lake on the left side of the world map where there's a little orange dot next to a triangle intersection.

I've been playing fully patched Gothic3 for the past couple days. It *is* a fun game. I presume Gothic 4 will be more action-focused by these videos. Different developer obviously...

Is it ? Is it really? I never thought it was that fun. I paid 50 bucks for that buggy mess (certainly learned my lesson) too when it came out because i was a huge G1/G2 fan. Combat was reduced to clickclickclickclickclick as the orcs would make a big circle around you and wait their turn. Ridiculous. No amount of patches or mods will fix the broken combat system unless they do a total conversion or something and convert it to Gothic 2 style combat as it should have been in the beginning, and as Risen was. I've tried and tried again to get into the game and enjoy it but after 3 or 4 tries now and probably 60+ hours I give up on it.

I hope Gothic 4's combat is pretty much exactly as Risen's was... and i hope to god they don't have demonic stun locking boars that kill you in 3 seconds.

Did anyone play G3 with Humanforce quest pack? any good? i've installed it together with 1.74 CP, but havent touched it yet..

Gothic3 is quite ok after 1.74 patch.. Looks a bit better too with the new HDR and stuff.. The combat is still not that satisfying though, but it's a fun game to explore.

yeah looks more hacknslash then the ones before, yet still rpg-ish.Aslong as they can finish the game, unlike what happened with g3, then this may turn out fun (and together with two worlds 2 and witcher 2 haha, fun end 2010/2011

Risen has this too, but here it's more noticeable.. The combat looks faster / more hack'n'slash than Risen, i thought the combat/AI in Risen was a bit over the top at times, far too often it was like a mini-boss fight (against humanoids at least).

September will be very expensive, 3(!) big open-world RPG's, not often you see that Smile

Here is a translation of the skills screen which appears 3 minutes into the first gameplay vid above.

Kampfgeist - fighting spirit
Disziplin - discipline
vitalitat - vitality
präzision - accuracy/precision
heimlichkeit - stealth/secrecy
lnbrunst - not sure
gleichmut - serenity/composure
dominanz - domination

There's some popup descriptions when he mouses over things as well.

Yes, it is. It's only my opinion. I'm talking about 1.7+ (now playing 1.74). The orcs aren't waiting to take turns on me. I'm using this the combat tips on this page, fyi.

For the boars, I've had success in holding right mouse button down and left clicking, or just right clicking. Just left clicking doesn't work for them.

Isn't Gothic 4 coming out in october?
Drakensang: The River Of Time is still TBA afaik
Two worlds 2 on the other hand is coming out in september unless the legal issues don't hinder it...

What country is that?
There has been no word from DTP about english version at all. People are getting frustrated on the lack of news.
There is a spanish and italian version available though. Sad
