Oh well, it was the same with Assassin's Creed II. At least I could understand that people could get angry over this one because of the DRM, but this one is only Steam protected. I mean come on. I wouldn't be surprised if Mafia 3 was console only. |
This one is surrounded by shit also. You get half the game now, half later with DLC. We can criticize Rockstar all we want for the shitty engine of GTA4, but at least they released the full game, and their DLC was actually among the few DLC packages worth purchasing. So his choice not to buy it is as valid as not choosing to buy AC2 (only sellouts bought AC2 anyway ), because if you want the whole game, you still need to use cracks in order to use the DLC. (Would you risk your Steam account being banned for unlocking illegally DLC? But you are probably not the right one to ask, as you'd probably shell out cash for the DLC as well. )

How is that true? The only DLC announced is the Jimmy one, with a completely new set of characters, mission structure, clothes, dialogue, etc. I don't see how it's any different from one of the Episodes from Liberty City?

Yes, indeed:

The only OTHER DLC apart from the Jimmy's one are only preorder bonuses- and no, I was not afraid to use cracked DLC with my original Dragon Age, for instance.
And if there's any worthy DLC for Mafia 2 I have no issue with buying it, if it's a weapon pack or clothes pack- of course I'm going to pirate it, simple as that.

Dragon Age has no Steamworks integration. But you have fun trying to enable the gun packs on your legit Mafia 2 account.
You can roll your eyes all you want, you are the one preaching on a piracy board. By doing that, you are no better than NPiracy and the likes. You bought it? Good for you, let everyone do as they will.
You are even worse, because you bitch about DRM and then go out buy AC2. Just like all the ones that bitched about MW2 having no dedicated servers and how it's the downfall of PC gaming, and then went out to buy it. You were one of them also, no? Edit: Yep.

I never bitched about DRM in AC2. Nor about MW2.
In fact, many people PMed me about how I felt with AC2 DRM, and I've never had a problem with it apart from one time when Ubi's servers were DDOSed by 4chan.
OK, another example. Do you think Valve banned anyone that enabled Just Cause 2 DLC on their account? No.
And I'm not preaching, I don't care about anyone buying it, my words were directed only to evilmonkey who said that first Mafia was hist top game of all time, and in the video he recorded he said how he loved the demo etc, and now he's pirating it.
And for the love of god, do you really just compared me to NPiracy?

Maybe he won't like this one? Demo hardly gave any indication of the story. I am a really great proponent of buying games only after you've actually played the whole thing. At least that is how I have purchased games in the last few years anyway. That trust I used to have for developers and their history and so on, it just isn't there anymore, even for the most loyal of PC developers.

@iNatan
wait what?
So you pirate a game, complete it and then buy it? (and probably never touch it again?)
on topic:
I've got no intention of going back over 100 pages. Can you play the game with your trusty ol' xbox360 controller?
I prefer to play games like these (GTA, Just Cause etc.) with a controller because keyboard+mouse feels kinda strange.
