Games these days cannot be any shorter, 8 1/2 hours going as slow as I could on hard, now I have nothing to do as I can't free roam and find playboys/posters, no way I'm paying for any DLC that has free roam, that bullshit should already be in the game
It's like they purposely kept it out so they could milk the game a little more, good game but not worth $50, maybe $30

Hi,
I've just installed Mafia 2 - Unleashed release, but it doesn't work. When I start the game, I see the "Mafia 2" logo and the main screen with the game's credits, but after that all what I get is a blank screen. No error message. Nothing. Just a blank screen.
The skidrow release works just right for me, but only english language is available, while the new Unleashed relase is multi5.
Anyone with the same problem here?

I just got a zotac gtx 480 amp!, and only get 20 fps in the benchmark.(every thing at max ) Is there some driver bugs, is it not optimized? i have the latest drivers to.
i can allso see that under gameplay it only uses 50% of the gpu (msi afterburner)

Just finished. Not impressed. Apparently if you're in the mob, you drive a lot. A LOT! The shooting is so-so, the world feels empty and the story is weak. Apart from Joe, i didn't care about anybody. Joe's the only character that has some, well, character (and even he's a total cliche).
Nah, the first one was great, this one isn't even in the same ballpark.

Yet the first game had you driving more and at considerably slower speeds yet you consider that great. Interesting.

Oh i know. But in 2002 things were different. And apart from driving some of the missions were much much better then in this one (the only good one is the Hotel one). That's the biggest problem i have. You drive and drive and at the end the mission is totally boring. There's a cutscene in the middle of the game where Vito and Joe are doing their mob thing, killing people and beating them up... i was thinking the whole time, why I wasn't doing that!? Also the story was much better in the first one and so were the characters.

I'm sorry to say that I couldn't agree more. This was what KOTOR 2 was to the first KOTOR. Like you say.... Empty!

Hm, so far i am on chapter 10 - and i like this game alot..
I have not played the first game.. maybe thats the reason im highly impressed here.
For me - the city feels full of life.. life everywhere... its all so.. organic - From the dirt/snow on you/car to the people, going around, minding their own business - reading a paper or something.. When you wake up in the (game) morning - and through the window you see that life.. its cool.
I like the story as well, its better than most bs hollywood movies anyway..
I like the graphics, the faces are quite detailed and nice.
The few things i don't like much - well, yeah the driving.. is waaay to time consuming - from A to B, to A to C.. ffs.
I also dont like the save system - you can''t go to a safe house and safe - its during a mission start or some mission moment, not during free roam, meh. A big minus here..
Soo.. yeah i like the game alot so far :]

Wow, what an overall disappointment.  (Just finished the game)
Just watch as one of the DLC's let's you kill another mob boss, save a friend and then you've got free-ride. ^_^
At least that'll be free for me.

im at chapter 11 now and got around 5 1/2 hours playtime. is this normal?
if it goes on like this i will be done in under 8 hours.
still i like the game alot. hope there will be a little bit more action in the last chapters, not just driving around or watching (good) cut scenes.

Does anyone know what compression was used making DVD5RIP by UNLEASHED group? I replaced DirectX files with Dxwebsetup and made setup with Inno using lzma/ultra64 compression, but output files are nearly 5 GB. How they managed to compress this game?
