So with all the job threads lately , i'm curious for most of you , how much would be a good salary per month ?
I'm not talking some bullshit extravaganza like buying a 2 grand watch and not affect your income considerably , i'm thinking something decent : money for food , bills , gas , going out in the weekend , buy some clothes , and still having some to put away for some future investment (car , expensive eletronics , etc).

Dunno how it is in the other countries, but in Poland my dad earns just about 2000 dollars a month, my mom around 1100. This kind of money makes you wealthy in Poland considering the rest of the country. We have 2 cars, a large flat, a nice lot outside of tow, pretty expensive electronic equipment etc. So as I said, I dunno how it is where you live, but if you live alone than 2000 dollars a month seems to be even too much, lol.

Here in Cro higher than 1500€ if you have no credit debts to pay. And if you have no kids you could really enjoy with that imo...

We are talking about net wage right?

I think it would be around 2500€ in Germany.

(Though food and meat and all that stuff is VERY cheap in germany)

of course

don't remember which of you have cars , so that should up the monthly costs by a considerable bit , unless you drive a company car most of the time

€2000 should be enough in the Netherlands. The man working fulltime (2000) and the woman working parttime (1000 or so) should net 3000. That's enough for a startup family.

1500€ could be enough to lead a decent lifestyle if you don't have a family, but in order to fully enjoy the life I'd say 2500€. Things completely change if you have a family and/or you've got to pay the rent (since the prices here are ridiculously high even for shitty 60m^2 apartments..)

Absolutely not, prices have doubled while the salaries are the same as 2001. A lot of people who have never had problems in the past are now encountering several difficulties to make ends meet. Sad

I live on 2500 euro / 3200 usd/month, and I can just afford to pay bills and food. Got some cash left every month if I'm lucky.

It's teh same here in NL. Prices doubled while salaries were raised by an estimated 10% or so since the introduction of the euro.

Only one left now Laughing

I'm studying and I'm getting 250 euro scholarship every month. That's enough for a student to rent a room and pay for food, transport and 50mbps internet connection Very Happy. And I'm also freelancing, so everything more I earn is pure gain Smile

who pays the scholarship ?
over here only companies pay such a large amount , uni usually gives like 60e , and you pay like 25 out of that for the dorm , no real time until the 4th year to do anything extra , only if you LIVE in the city where the uni is .
sure you could get a part time job and get payed about 120-130 e per month , but during vacation you'll pay about 40 to keep staying in the dorm

PS
avarage wage here is about 250 and that's not a good sum at all , if you have kids and you're the only provider you're pretty much fucked

Fuck you guys, this thread makes me damn jelous Rolling Eyes

Dad is the only earner in my family and he earns around 600$/month. And that's for a family of three. Starting uni this year, thank god i got into a budget group, still no stipend or anything like that but at least it's free. You have to be either a cripple, earn a special social status or get PERFECT marks here to get a stipend. (Only 2 or so people per faculty get stipends due to their marks, so you have to be perfect and lucky to get there)

But I digress.

2000$/month would be pretty OK for a family of three, IMO. With that kind of money you could easily pay bills and all that monthly shit, go out with buddies/family on weekends and still have some money left to put aside for whatever you want.

P.S.

Sorry for the whine, I had to fucking vent that shit out.

That is actually far from the truth.

inflation Netherlands

CBS (Central Bureau for Statistics) is the official organisation in the Netherlands that gathers macro-economical figures.

The Euro currency entered circulation on 1 January 2002.

This graphic actually shows that the inflation topped just before the introduction of the Euro.

I'm on £700 a month, i get paid weekly and am from the u.k.
But i also get working tax credit which i hope Cameron doesn't stop for people like myself under 10k a year wage.
So £700 a month plus £52 a week credits so I'm on about £900 a month.
Not ideal and sure wouldn't be if i had my own home, but I'm ok atm.
