Hmm, I have just completed the "Greaser" mission and I think the game is fun, but too much time is spent on Cutscenes Imho, especially since I am halfway, and it only took me about 3 hours to get there.
Also, it kind of bothers me that Vito just keep being a Smalltime Gangster, it feels a bit unsatisfying compared to Mafia 1.
Got a question, but I am not interested in spoilers... I'm wondering why on earth Vito didn't visit that older Gangster from the prison (can't remember the name, but he had much influence) as soon as he was a free man... Instead he just goes along with Joe stupid and starts working for the Falcone gang (The one that doesn't play by the rules).

Imho, Vito is NOT the smart one, as he could have told Joe to take it easy after that night with the Burial and all that, and visited the old guy the day after, but I got a feeling that I'll meet him sooner or later as an enemy.

All in all an ok game, but it doesn't have the good story that Mafia 1 had, sad really.

Good game, but short...I mean, normally I don't mind short games. MW2 was 6 hours etc, but this has the sandbox GTA-feeling over it. I would have liked it to be longer, not much to do besides the story missions and with that I think much of the openworld feelings have gone to waste.

It's just loading forever and nothing happens. any fixes for that? I tried restarting the game and got same result.

I got the same problem. I used someone else's save game and loaded chapter 15. (you go to chapter 15 after talking to bruno)

no workaround other than getting a save? I'd like to keep my own save :\

I hate you.

No idea.

It worked excellent in GTA SA, providing, alongside some fun action, also a sense that the city is ALIVE and events occur, factions act and your actions have consequences.

GTA:SA started really pissing me off at some points. When you're just roaming around and again you get "you're neighbourhood is under attack!"
And unless you went in and personally cleaned house you'd lose it.
As if your gang was composed of whimps, idiots and retards who couldn't fight for shit :/

Atleast you had something todo.
If i was Las Fieros of Venturas id just ignore it or steal a plane and fly there. Then later when i was in the mood to kill some homeboys or just needed new guns id go there and take the areas back.

This is a pretty good game, I think its quite realistic and quite interesting. If GTA 5 is going to use this engine then it will look fucking sick and almost life like.

My god the last mission is annoying, why is the saves so far apart. You have to go through the same shit over and over. This isnt a proper way of making a game harder.

GTA 5 with the Mafia 2 engine? Don't think that's gonna happen. Very Happy
And I'm one of the persons who thinks that Rockstars RAGE isn't all that bad.
Needs optimization for sure but it's not a bad engine.
Red Dead Redemption looked pretty awesome (and had some really bad slowdowns at some parts).

Does someone know how to record from mafia 2 or other games ? Besides the fact that my framerate is low the fucking fraps send it way to low for a reasonable image .

you could try Xfire, they use their own codec, but capturing WILL always slow down your system very much.

you can choose to capture full-frame or half-size (faster) of your current resolution, and quality is pretty watchable

You're probably rushing it. Just go slower, use cover, pop out, kill one baddie, rinse and repeat and you won't need to reload. Ever. It's quite tedious and boring, tbh.

You need 27500 and are you sure you have 260,000? Used a trainer or something maybe? I had about 26,000 and crushed 4 or so cars to get to 27.5k.

The fastest way to get money as far as i know is to rob gun shops , they give 750$ each. Just run in, headshot the merchant, collect and run to next shop.

If GTA5 uses this engine, it would be a step back.....

Euphoria kicks ass. Run down a sidewalk in GTA4 and bump into people, then run down a sidewalk in Mafia 2 and run into people....seems like there shouldn't be too much of a difference, but the difference is HUGE. Now that is just running on a sidewalk....a tree in a forest.

Sure GTA4 doesn't run well on your pc, it doesn't run well on mine, it doesn't run well on anyones, unless the settings are sacrificed, or tons of .ini files are edited.

However, two years from now, you'll re-install it and be AMAZED with the game, and IF you re-install Mafia 2, you'll be bored/disappointed because it will run/look the same.

Lastly, this game has sooooo many scripted events it isn't even funny.....but i'll at least beat it and then uninstall. I've still got GTA4 installed.....

Tell you what then, go play GTA IV and toss yourself silly. Some of us can play multiple game without feeling the need to constantly compare them.

Besides, like you say, I can play Mafia 2 now at full settings or wait another 2 year to be able to do the same with GTAIV. I'll take Mafia 2 thanks.

if you get the cash and run out fast they wont come after you.

The only thing better in Mafia 2 than Mafia 1 are the graphics, Mafia 1 was a masterpiece, this is just a game for dumb console users.

i can run GTA4 all settings maxed out at 1920x1080 and the game looks like shit and runs at 30-50fps.

cant force AA so even if soemone came back in time from 10 years in the future and gave you an epic pc it will still look like shit and probably run like shit aswell.

ive heard it all before , designed to be played on pcs from xxx years in time.

anyone remember EQ2? it was aparently designed to still look good in 2+ years time guess what it still looked like shit and still ran like shit
