-this mission doesnt exist in the game
-very cool car!
-melee weapons!
-the cops dont shoot you like fuckin idiots ( see beggining of the clip )
-you can carry a gun if you have a permit!
-the police makes obstacles in the street
etc.
wtf? can't somebody sue them for FALSE advertising ?
There are roadblocks in game.
There are roadblock but they are a joke.
Ive encountered them several times and everytime its just 1 car in the middle of the road with enough room to the left or right to pass it.
ps That youtube vid does explain a few things tbh.
During the entire game Joe wil often say that if i need a job i should go to Derrick etc.
Been to Derrick a crapload of times and the guy never has any work for you.
You only do 2 jobs for him in the entire game i believe.
This youtube vid shows that Derrick is supposed to give you more jobs but 2K removed those missions but forgot to change Joe's text.

btw, vito as a main character is bad choice imo, he is so...out of the game lol..dunno , he is too good boy and if you take for example joe..joe is a guy to remmber and to compair vito with niko belic..niko fits he's character better than vito i think..what do you think?
EDIT: As to clarify this was planned to be released like this earlier.

(Though more will follow such as Betrayal of Jimmy, Rags to Riches 1, 2 and Joe's Adventure to name some stuff listed via Steam.)

I agree there is no real depth to Vito.
He does what he is told todo and there is little to no doubt.
There was alot of potential to develop him but they didnt.
Like at the start there is his mom and his sister and its implied that he is close to them.
He sees his mom once and his sister 3 times in the entire game wtf.
This is a spoiler for those who havent finished the game but it shows the lack of char development.
Spoiler:
He goes to jail and his sister marries while he is inside.
Id consider it to be normal that he would visit his sister and her husband when he gets out but he doesnt.
He goes to Joe and continues his mob work and he doesnt see his sister until she sits on his doorstep crying over her husband.
Then after that mission there is a discussion and she tells him that she never wants to see him again. At that point i didnt really care because 2K failed to create a relationship between Vito and his sister
Further At several points in the game Vito is doing rly well and has cash but not once does he help his poor mother and sister.
Thos are all opportunities to develop the character and show that he has depth.
They could have developed the char by giving him choices during missions. By actualy letting him do some of the plot kills during the game instead of Joe and giving him some emotional reactions to them.
Hard to compare rts's and rpg's longevity with a 3rd person story-driven shooter.
HL1 with Opposing Force and Blue Shift? Just another example. Don't think I'd rate Epi 1/2 of HL2 as expansions because they don't require HL2 to be installed, but they do build on the story in HL2.
Same goes for TLAD and TBOGT for GTA4; may not require the original game to be installed, but they show other sides of the same story (which, in all fairness, is just as good or bad as that of Mafia 2), and TBOGT is pretty damn amazing.
Obviously no other ones come to mind now, but I'm sure there's more
What i meant is the nature of the games. I've spent countless hours grinding gear on rpg's or levelling other chars. You just can't do it with a 3rd person shooter (at least not on the traditional sort).
HL1 + OF ? HL1 had around 6~7 hours, i'm sure the expansion was shorter. HL2 had around ~15 with the Eps being half of it.
Gta's without the side-missions and all the gimmicks are not bigger imo.
Mafia 2 is getting much flak (some deserved) for having an open world and not being a sandbox and 'cause of that being to short. That together with the awful dlc affair and the lack of multiplayer (which i couldn't care less).
yea, you spoted the weak spots of why it feels like that and i think you right about the choices and decisions, if there were options to choose if to be good or bad for example..this coul'd change it abit.
Loving this game at the moment, haven't finished it yet, but its refreshing to have a game based upon a solid story. It really is keeping me motivated to play on unlike GTA 4. I had to LOL when....
Spoiler:
Joe redeccorates his apartment, by painting the walls pink and putting flamingos all around the apartment.

Yeah at times its asif Vito is brain dead.
Joe is the lead who does all the work and Vito is his loyal lapdog.
Vito is the players char he should be the lead but he isnt he shows no initiative and makes no choices they are all made for him and he doesnt rly mind.
Its asif he has absolutely no emotion.
Like when you kill on the first mission Henry gives you, even if Vito is a WW2 vet id expect a bit emotion when telling Henry.
Btw wasnt it said that during the game you would notice several design changes in the furniture of your house etc?
Only Joes house has this and only once.

Think HL1 was longer than that, it was a lot longer than HL2 at least. OF and BS (god what a bad name ) were quite a bit shorter though.
Point is though, there was much more game in the game if you catch my drift. Of the 9 hours it took me to finish Mafia 2 (and that's with me still checking out Bruski for missions), at least 6 to 7 I spent either driving from A to B or watching a cutscene. Now, if the driving had any point other than transport it would be fine; but there wasn't. Even counting the few chases/getaways the game has, there's still not much more than 2 hours of *actual* gameplay in it.
I did die more in M2 than in GTA4 though, but that's mostly because I often ran up to people to start a fight, only to die half a second before my fist landed on their face to start the fighting ^^
I think we both agree the game is short and they're are probably gonna dlc it to death. I don't have any complain about the driving. I never used a taxi on GTA. Half the fun i had in all gta's was driving to a mission and breaking hell on the way there, just 'cause i could. Sure that's not the case in Mafia 2, but still, driving along and listening to the great music was wonderful, and i would never use a taxi or "teleport" to skip it.

and also he's look not suit the characer he represent...he's face too...too good boy lol.

true.
When i think about it Vito doesnt age at all during the game. Only 6 years pass during the game but stil he should have atleast aged a bit.
Him having a pretty face is ok at start of the game but it would have been nice if his look/face would have turned a bit ruffer towards the end of the game.
I don't mind him being a "good boy" (I actually wouldn't like him to be a bad boy but that's only me), but I didn't like how he pretty much does only what he's told like he can't make a choice by himself (apart from the Leo mission).
If the character didn't speak (ala Gordon Freeman) then it would make sense that the others order you and you do what you're told, but idk it felt weird that even though Joe was as "clever" he had so many ideas on what to do, while our character was completely clueless!

Well he did care for his family but staying in the mafia business to pay off the debts and all made him lead a life that alienated him from his family. Like when the sister comes for help and what happens afterwards. The last words his sister says to him are "I don't know you anymore... stay away from me" . And that he does... after all, he went to prison for his family and all he got from them was crap.
The truth is that thanks to the numerous upcoming DLCs and our fellow console gamers who "gotta catch 'em all", and of course the lower than usual development costs (since the game was developed in Czech) the game will likely cover it's cost and perhaps make profit.
what happens afterwards. The last words his sister says to him are "I don't know you anymore... stay away from me"
Do you have to visit your sister's house to get this scene? I did "her mission" but I didn't see her ever again! Did I have to go back to her apartment?

You get a call, remember??? That is when she says those words to him... and this mission was the last time that you see her for the remainder of the entire game.
"Francesca later calls Vito and, after Vito says he would kill Eric if he ever beat her again, Francesca tells him to stay away from her and her family. This was the last time Francesca was seen or heard. Her status after the phone call remains unknown."
That part never happened in my game lol! How is this possible, I have no clue lol! Interesting.

My point is that he saw his mother once and his sister 3 times.
The last time he speaks to his sister is supposed to be emotional but i didnt give a feck. I saw the girl 3 times in the entire game, there was no emotional relationship.
