hah...just ordered my at90usb1287 dev board so I can use the new code in all its glory Smile
At least each time the dev team updates the code - we can just reflash our controllers and have fun!

I can confirm that NFOhump will be one of the 100 sites reviewing the PS3 Stinger. Expect an official review in about a week.

yes ... its very easy to flash it - can be done using a simple mini usb cable and the free flip software from atmel.com

yes ... its very easy to flash it - can be done using a simple mini usb cable and the free flip software from atmel.com

so theoretically if i get one of those at90uskey devices and flash the jailbreak all i need is to plug that device via usb to the ps3? would be nice, cause u can get one for about 35 euros and u are maybe not fucked if one of those cheap clones does not get any further support

edit: ok found one for 24 euros

if you buy the stinger than you dont need to buy the at90uskey?

Yeah you got me confused also. I think the at90uskey is the same as the stinger after you put the software on. Anyway... i'm really hyped Smile

So we don't need original discs to backup them to an external disk? Can we do this directly from PC? I see ps3 releases popping up everywhere Smile

@ellen: sure can i buy the stinger. but i simply want to mess around a bit with the controller. and maybe its easier to update the at90usbkey device than updating the stinger, dunno if they somehow tried to block access to the chip. time will tell. and of course its cheaper Wink

Excuse my ignorance, but this at90usbkey you refer to, is it a re-programable usb board onto which you can upload files to?

So if i bought this all we need is to wait for the stinger/psjailbreak contents uploaded to the net and then uploaded it to the at90usbkey and it is then a 1:1 clone?

Or am i totaly wrong Razz

nope thats my understaing aswell..flash the usbkey with the released code

Of course, there is no released code yet. You are making the assumption it will be released and fully compatible with the device. It's a pricey risk, i'd just wait a week or two - things will be much clearer then.

Ahh right thanks. If it's only a theory at the moment then as you say it could be a costly one!

I'm in no rush and will wait till someone has a working device.

lol the code is already out..just compiled it & flashed my at90usbkey...working fine and with the patch to play backups its even better than psjailbreak ...

What "patch to play backups"? You don't mean downloaded ISOs do you?

Only reason I'm asking is because PSJB plays backups too, just ones you make yourself Razz

the patch is needed to enable BDROM access so you can use e.g. backup manager...without the patch it does not allow access to the BDROM...guess its for legal reasons...the devs dont want to support piracy...

1 TEENSY 18.00 18.00

Subtotal: 18.00
Shipping: 6.55
Total: 24.55

That works out to about 17 or 18 Euro's tops and that's including shipping. It'll probably take a week+ to get here though.

Just write one of the provided psgroove.hex files.

Check your board and use the HEX provided on the directory named after your board accordingly.

Copy the manager.pkg to a fat32 formatted USB drive.

1- Plug your board into one of your PS3 USB ports
2- Unplug your PS3 from the power source
3- Plug your PS3 again, then press power and then eject (quickly)
4- If successful, there should appear a "Install Package" option on the XMB
5- Plug your USB drive and install Backup Manager
