Ya the assassin is pretty much gimped but I Refuse to start over. you can tell damn well how much this AI cheats cause it can have a move to get 4 skulls in a row, 3 in a row even with the dmg multiplier but it NEVER goes for it, what does it do? it moves this single gem that gets a crap load of combos then it'll do the skulls.

Obvious cheater is OBVIOUS!

Yep. i will see it do a move and i think "Bahaha! I will have that 4 in a row next turn" but it never happens. He hits with a plethora of shit.
YET. . . with the cheating of the AI. . . still I am hooked. Lol.
I guess that means it is a good game despite it.

ya, im still hooked for now lol.

I've got a good fit for my assassin atm. seek shadows (adds purple to purple points) stealth (can keep going as long as theres purple points).

swift strike turns yellow into purple and stone strike turns green into purple and for every color changed does dmg, and if you have stealth goin while doing these attacks it gives you more purple points to gain thus keeping your stealth going allowing you to take next to no dmg

Wait till you get to the ogre that has like 400 life and a 10x skull damage multiplier! Very Happy

I understand the need to make it challenging, it's cool, but fix the god damn AI

Not going to argue the cheating AI but how is the assassin gimped? Hit the enemy with a disarm, then go into stealth. The BEST time for this is when you have 8-12 purple mana, and the board has a crapload of yellow, green and red gems. Then just spam your strikes. I usually open with the strike that nets me a 4 gem bonus (green, yellow or red near 2 or more purple gems), that puts me into a nice chain combo of strikes that pretty much turns the whole board purple, and fills that bar. And the double damage multiplier from disarm+stealth stacks, so those strikes end up hitting for 40-60 damage. Shit is OP as fuck.

The ogre king fight was so ridiculous. Thanks to his wait between turns, I pretty much two-shot him.

My only complaint with the assassin is how reliant it is on all five colours (except blue). You almost want max morale just for the mana shield you get from purple, but you also want high agility and strength for the +per match bonus.

Well, Assassin is harder at the beginning I think. After having hard time with the rats in the ice cave, I restarted with the barbarian and it's much easier. Maybe it helped I could figure out the right order of spell casting to make things work well, which was harder for me with the assassin.

Assassin is close to verpowered if you get poisons and stick with stealth and the strike attacks.

You'll pretty much get an endless manashield and hardly take any damage, the only time I've had issues so far was on the ogre, think I died like seven times on him before I managed to kill him. Then again he has a eighteen multiplier on his skull damage, hurts like hell.

But yeah, the poison I have now does six damage each round for seven sounds, it costs 3 attack points to use and stacks with other poisons. So I can stack two of them for 12 damage each round from just poisons alone.

Disarm+stealth+blackjack = x8 multiplier on strikes. It obliterates

Two epic poisons do the same.

Deleted the game, cause there are imba combos in it and it's boring. Back to playing 1st one on psp.

Yeah, think you're right about the 1st game being a lot more fun.

Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.

Neopets Puzzle Adventure wasn't too bad, if I remember (well, yeah, just have to forget it's aimed at children). Anyone played that?

The cockatrice was piece of piss for me, but what REALLY pushed my right to the limits was the Ogre. The FIRST one (apparently there's one for every floor deeper into the dungeon) took me at least an hour before I finally lucked out and beat him.

Fucking AI cheats as much, if not more, in #2 as it did in #1

Same thing happened to me with the Templar. At first I reloaded from the main menu with no luck. Then I exited the game completely and tried again. This time it put me across the room with the arrow to click on and it worked. Give it a few tries by saving/exiting/reloading and keep clicking on that arrow.

Anyone having problems launching the game? I'm using the tinyiso version and it the game worked very well twice, but now it's just hogging half the CPU on launch. I guess it's time to reinstall.

EDIT: I didn't reinstall, just waited two hours and it works now. Weird.

EDIT2: ah, found out the reason. Doesn't like if something is using WASAPI.

I already tried all this several times, exiting with saving first, exiting without saving, going back to the main menu, restarting the game... no arrow, no nothing. Oh well, not like there's much to it anyway, right? I defeated the Gorgon after all...

Sorry to hear that, that's a lot of matches to go through without at least seeing the ending.

still enjoying this.. yeah the ai cheaps you, but its never that bad on standard difficulty.

some cheap ass fucking spells some of these cunts have, especially the ones that dont end their turn... my heart always sinks when one of the cunts fills up most of the board with skulls... i wince and say 'yeah... this shits gonna hurt...'

opted to go 2h axe on my warrior class... when i get finished ill probably try the assassin one or something.
