Denby Grace, senior producer of M2, said my nick on live stream because I added him as my friend on Steam. Cool Face Ah, the fame. Laughing

BTW, this DLC may be actually worth it. If it wasn't for the possible price tag in Europe (9,99 euros I guess, since it's 9,99 dollars in US), I would buy it w/o hestitation.

It looks like The Club (combos with kills, car tricks and stuff) but with REAL freeroam a'la GTA.

This DLC seems significantly harder and more challenging, the police is tuned to hunt you down more often, enemies are heavier equipped. The guys in the stream die all the time. Laughing

Ever since ive seen a pic of Jimmy ive been thinking who he reminds me of. And the 2nd guy to react at Gamespot nailed it. Ed Harris.

I play on PC, so I don't care about PS3. But the free dlc, the Betrayal of Jimmy (different from Jimmy's Vendetta) indeed wasn't released in Poland.

Laughing

You'll have to be patient and wait first for the release of the 60 DLCs representing each: 1 weapon, 1 car OR 1 suit. All sold separately.

After you complete the game a notebook thing will be on the main menu for you to browse, contains somewhat up to date info on the characters you meet and other such stuff.
(Not exactly up to date on the latest happenings to them however.)

Also the X360 Jimmy DLC's are both out, I'll see what can be done with them, could work though I believe the format is different for the X360 for anything to be usable.

EDIT: Ah they're LIVE DLC, won't work as such then.
(EDIT: Or maybe that could work.)
(EDIT: Furry program LeFluffie did indeed work.)

Hm.. What is LIVE DLC? What other kinds of DLC exist on the 360??

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

I was just surprised to see the folder structure and file format so close to the LIVE format but it's rather logical if one thinks about it, hah, my mistake but I've worked trough it now via that program.

EDIT:
http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4616&p=39621&hilit=dlc#p39621

EDIT: Ah it worked it seems.

(I do use other mods to load chapters and freeplay but that seems compatible as well.)

EDIT: But the game itself will not activate either chapter, I'll try a few things though.

Indeed, which is why I'm testing to unpack and repack the archives but it'll take some time.

EDIT: Proved to be near impossible, a tool that can do both packing and unpacking is needed plus X360 and PC SDS format support, there's two separate utilities now to do it but it can't be merged together again, movie files were watchable however as was the script files, interesting content.
(620 MB when packed into a rar, only modified the "content" file to make it more compatible by altering two lines but I suspect that while interesting to play around with it's not going to be fully usable in the game so the PC specific DLC are needed, thankfully the first one will be released later next week already.)

Ya they could have done more with that. Its probably in all the content they removed.
The story in the game shows a few gaps and weak spots so i find it wierd that so many people think the story is great.

At start it is said that your family had problems with money mostly because your father spend alot of cash on booze. Then later you hear that after your father died your mother inherited a 2000 dollar debt because he loaned it from some loansharks a week before he died. But it is never said why he loaned 2000 dollar (that was a crapload of money back then).

What's the difference between the betrayal of jimmy and jimmy's vendetta?

Vendetta takes place after Betrayal and the story differs (Both use different city locales, some manor is also featured, apparently unusable and unreachable in the main game based on previous comments.), super charger bonus (Third stage for car tuning, adds a hotrod engine, I've shown screens of it earlier via LUA code as have others.) does however exist in both as do the leaderboard feature from what I've gained from the DLC data.
(Including the cutscenes and the entire story but that would be a bit of a spoiler though it seems rather brief and it is more about arcade action and getting a good top score or some such.)

Having watched so many gangsters/mob movies lately, I love how the game is inspired by a lot of movies:

* Vito coming back from the war = Michael in Godfather part I

*The relationship with Vito's family at the start (when the mother doesn't want anything to do with him because it's dirty money) = Scarface

*Also beating up the husband after he's been hitting your sister = Sonny in Godfather part I

*The whole point about drugs making it messy = Goodfellas AND partially Godfather part II

*A mixture of burying the body near the observatory and cleaning up after Joe when he shoots the bartender = Goodfellas

* Main character's name is Vito, his father is Antonio. Just like in the name of Godfather and his father. (Vito Andolini, his father is Antonio Andolini).

*Also there is a Don Tomassino in Godfather Part II, and one of the sidekicks in M2 is Henry Tomassino.

No big deal and no surprise either. Almost everything (in terms of artistic direction) nowadays is somehow recycled (inspired, redesigned etc.). It's kinda hard now to come up with something 100% original.

Ofc that doesn't mean the "recycled" material can't be of (top) quality. Smile

Recycling old ideas is not a problem, but this game had too many cliches. The writers clearly weren't as creative as the people that wrote the story for Mafia 1, or I'm remembering it too fondly.

Probably both. I am in the same boat, floating mainly over subjectivity and remembrance of nostalgic memories. Very Happy

I am already playing it. Hopelessly (?) waiting for the content that will complete the game.

There is no more need to make comparisons now. It's all clear. Each game has it's own pro's and con's. The only difference is that in the time while I was playing Mafia (1), I was younger, poorer, more stupid and overall happier. Cool

So I got the legit steam version of Mafia II (for free from EVGA) and wow what a pile of shit. The legit version is filled with fucked up bugs including a movement bug and some physx bugs. The movement bug happens at random times and throughout several chapters. I only played until CHapter 3 on steam until I said fuck it. None of these bugs were present when I played the skidrow version (with crackfix) all the way upto chapter 14. The ONLY good thing about the legit version is achievements

Skidrow release > legit steam
