I don't have much hope for DS3. Chris Taylor is a windbag poser.

Good thing Chris Taylor isn't doing it then, eh?
Yeah he's an 'advisor' but that's a position about as influential as a QA monkey when it comes to the real game design decisions.

Chris Taylor from Origin? I don't believe there ever was one, mate. There are two Chris Taylors; This one that is famous for Total Annihilation and Dungeon Siege .. and Chris(topher) Taylor from Interplay, famous for Fallout.
Origin was Robert and Richard Garriot, though they had some pretty damned awesome people working for them .. including Warren Spector, John Romero and Martin Galway ^_^

Thanks for the vid. I see potential with the engine but the gameplay is very hack & slash. I guess they are copying Diablo 2/3 gameplay. How moddable is the game? Hopefully just as much as DS1. That engine looks like it could power some great community content.

Look I know DS wasn't the best game in the world, but it still was fun on its own merits. I loved being able to control my little "army" of dudes almost RTS style throughout the game instead of just the usual 1 you get. They probably don't even use the experience system where you more you use something the better you get at it.
This looks like some crappy god of war clone.

So you don't even control a party in this one? I knew they'd fuck this up. Sure, it might look pretty but it's just not the same as the others

Yeah, where is the "Dungeon Siege" part? This is just a generic console hack n slash.

It looks like garbage, from the gameplay to the controls. Fuck sake, hope I am wrong. I will go mental if they crash and burn this series.

What game isn't linear anymore? Over all the worlds were nicely done and the combat was fun. The games all in all were a lot of fun.
Alas I have no hype for this the slightest bit, multi platform? Jee, how does that always turn out?

what part of dungeon siege 1 and 2 wasn't really a generic hack and slack? i mean really. If i get more options than clicking on enemies with my mouse button and using the one or 2 spells i have for special attacks i'll be happy as long as the game feels like dungeon siege.

Yeah, I wonder how the fuck you people can complain about derping the DS franchise. It was born a mindless hack'n'slash experience, no complexeties to how it worked at all. The story was paper-thin. What exactly was there except for a pretty world?
This already looks better just by virtue that it will have stuff like choices & consequences in it, but no... Controller amirite guys?!?! Oh noez.

"Find the source of the evil in the crypt!"
Now THAT's one hell of an original quest. Very unique, indeed.

Ah, so cute. "If you ever get lost, we implemented a system, that will help you, the breadcrumb system ..."
I mean really, we have arrived at the stage in gaming, where you average player needs a breadcrumb system (pathing to objectives) .... IN A FUCKING LINEAR GAME.
derp: "Uhm, I'm so confused, where do I go, forward, or backwards?! I need help!"

After a while... same derp: "I think I will go backwards, I can't risk to get killed, it seems this game doesn't have health regenerating system. Definately backwards!"
