Well, the game is technically polished. It's just that everything about it feels generic and boring. The voice acting and cut-scenes are bad, the units are generic (though historically accurate).

If you're a fan of RTS'es you'd probably enjoy it. It's nothing that hasn't been done before - and WW2 has been done to fucking death.

I don't really care that WW2 has been done to death. It offers, by far, the most variety in combat situations.

I see nothing wrong with the game. Sure it's slow paced but that's kinda the point of it. If you only like RTS-games like StarCraft 2, you wont probably like this one, but if you are a fan of WW2-games and slower RTSs like Sins of a Solar Empire, this will work very well for you. The game is absolutely gorgeous and works fine even on my bit older machine. Gonna buy this from G2Play or some other cdkey-shop once they get this to their catalogs.

I love the fact it's a bit slower paced. You don't have to be a korean with 200+ APM to be competetive.

Immunity is missing the point i think about the game style.

Its not supposed to be a "hey shit im attached to this man think ill call him harry, that one can be pete" Etc etc type feeling. Its purely strategic I think and not coh love my soldiers etc.

Its a large chess board nothing more.. and will appeal to those that dont want the fluffy shit.

The game is supposed to mimic tabletop style gaming, thats probably why its not as fast paced. Personally i even would have liked it if it was turnbased.

Even tho i fuckin hate that retarded ww2 setting (aside in COH) i kinda enjoy the game and its concept.
Tho there is one major problem - for me, every time i zoom out and in or scroll at a distant corner of the map, the rerrain becomes incredibly muddy and low res, it takes several seconds to load back into high res, its very frustrating..

I just saw this and since I didn't care for it much till now I grabbed the demo and is there some sort of useful tutorial in the full game? Since the demo sucks ass at explaining.

The first four or five missions of the campaign work as a tutorial, they explain how to move your troops, what units to use in what situations and how to produce more + how to use ruse-abilities. The game uses a pretty hardcore rock-paper-scissors-system, if a player fails to think the right way to accomplish the situation then the player is truly fucked. Wrong units in wrong places die almost instantly and because of slow movement of units in this game it will hurt very much.

Basically you fool Steam into thinking you are running the ZeroGear demo, so it allows you to connect online. Laughing

Played up to mission 4 now and I gotta say I enjoy it more than I would have thought after playing the demo.
I like the fact that it's sort of slow paced so you can actually take your time (sort of) and plan your moves instead of just clicking like a monkey on speed.

If they do release MOD tools (not just map creator), then I will buy it. It's great, but yeah, WW2 era will get tiring very soon.

In missions i get 25-30 fps on max details with an 8800GT which is acceptable for an RTS. The benchmark is giving 5-10 FPS but they really spam the screen with units - which is kind of the point with a benchmark.

i thought benchmarks were suposed to be an indication of how well your computer can run the game Razz

Well, they try to put heavy load, worst case scenario, so that Nvidia and AMD can sell a gfx card or two. While we play console ports.

This game runs fine for me, looks really good, polished, but it's ... bland. I only played the first 2-3 missions and I didn't "see" any strategy, just right click the enemies, use that RUSE magical consolish idea etc ................

Playing skirmish and battles gives you a better idea of what the game is actually like. It's really simple, kinda makes me think of EndWar actually quite a bit, just with base building. Very rock/paper/scissors system. The campaign I found is taking FOREVER to actually let you do anything, there is some serious hand holding in this game, it's probably the console training wheels left overs, I have it for both systems and I prefer the mouse, but now I can see why xbox boys are comfortable with the controller too, the game's pace is slow.
