By the way, if OXM rated the game "only" 8/10 (considering that the same magazine rated both the DiRTs 9/10) it's either because F1 2010 is too difficult for them or probably just not that good. Razz

The first hypothetis would be very appreciated though. ^^

Well hypotetis 1
I hated the dirt 2 menus HATED HATED HATED ,and with every race my Hatred grew.
I have a feeling that the career mode aka Live The Life is more menus(now animated wth 3d characters) like dirt 2 but now i have to also answer question in rpg fashion.
Probably okay for the first while but i can see HATRED raising its head after a while,on the plus side as i can do full length races i wont have to suffer them as often in a 2 hour gaming session.
Ai Handling FFB and physics will make or break the racing.
Hard to make a call on this ,Dirt2 improved over Grid and Dirt but the ffb while it improved wasn't really a highlight.
Consoles havent improved in hardware and while you can optimize an engine there comes a point when you get as much as you can out of it,Dirt2 only had to contend with (6 ?) cars ,this game has to put 24 on a highly detail track ,so did something give graphically, wont know till i run it on my pc.
Would find it hilarious if when xbox 360 is the main platform is if the machines started to power down to stop overheating 80 - 90 % of a full length race or 2 hours or so(but maybe thats my love of consoles showing true.

Really need sim reviewers to make a call on it ,after all xbox reviewers keep harping on about Halo and Forza as being like the pinnacle of gaming ,which i disagree on so dont hold their opinions in high esteem.

Dont get me wrong on the last point about the sim reviews,i realise its not meant to be a sim ,its just they might give a more informed review of how arcade v sim it is rather than a review from a mainly controller based reviewer.

I wonder if that would work just yet, might also have that pre-order block data though I don't know.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/44310/
(F1 2010 thus matching the above code.)

(What I meant is that with for example Recettear if you use 70400 it'll abort as it's not ready server-side and with Darksiders 50620 it'll do nothing since pre-orders are at 50629 which is a dummy placeholder with no data.)

Indeed, it's blocked server-side from progressing further though the data is there, might even contain decryption keys already.

Usually though it's moved to say 44319 which is a placeholder for people who pre-order and the like and it'll go trough but it's empty so nothing is installed until release day when it's moved back to 44310 again.

And what about Mafia 2? I was able to install the game(and play, adding steamappid.txt) on August 23 about 8pm GMT, while it said "game will be available August 27 12pm GMT"

Can we expect the game to be playable right on the US launch (September 21)?

That was the US release date, I did the same thing to play the game early, same method should apply to this game if they use separate release dates. Smile
(Before that Mafia had the ID of 50139 but just before the US release date it was moved to 50130 again and then unlocked server side close to midnight between the 22nd to 23rd.)

EDIT:

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=us (September 21st, possibly it'll work around the 19th to 20th)

http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=uk (September 24th, above date via Installscript should still work.)

Then lets hope it'll be leaked and playable before release like Mafia 2 Cool

Sure, in DiRT 2 there was a LAN mode as well, perfectly working with the pirated version Smile
