I just discover you can install the same firmware{on that you already have} after reconnected my USB fat32...
I cancelled it immediately after starting tough{I got the option for that}
it will not effect Jailbreaking,right?
I'm still on 3.41.

just a quick heads up guys, how do i manage isos (the right kind, not the non-working old "rips" - i downloaded a recent duplex rls) downloaded if i want to dump them on my external usb? (not possible to use the ftp tool ATM)
just dump them onto my fat 32 2,5" or do i need to create a special folder for the BM to be able to read the files?

am i reading this correctly? FW 3.5 was made before 3.42 becuase there was no expolit then? So 3.42 fixes the exploit but 3.5 doesnt. How funny would that be if true

Fact is that they came up with 3.42 pretty quickly, so I guess they had enough time to copy those lines of code in the 3.5 firmware.

Twice - surely most/all of the move packages were sent to manufacturing weeks/months ago - im sure they wouldnt have time/cost to recall all packages and re-print all games with new firmware..

that's stupid, if they made the 3.50fw weeks ago before the hack, why would they fix the hack starting from 3.41??

I think you are wrong, games with 3.50 were only packaged recently IMO... Sony wouldn't even have bothered with 3.42 then if they knew after a few days 3.50 would put back the exploit !!!

How are the games extracted on the external hdd?
Do they need to be in directorys on the root of the hdd such as:
BLES00875
BLES00756
etc..
Or can they be in:
Ridge Racer/BLES00875
Metal Gear/BLES00756
etc..
dust.

AFAIK you put them under /GAMEZ/Game name.
You don't need to label them BLES00875.

if the 3.50 was really already on games discs.. its possible that the exploit isn't fixed in that firmware... we will probably know soon enough.

So there is a Minimus AVR USB and a Maximus AVR USB now? I guess Team Xecuters Minimus is the original and the Maximus a clone, right?
The Minimus seems more trustworthy to me and they both cost the same. It seems you can't even plug the Maximus directly into the PS3, it needs an USB cable.

Sad to say guys, but the PSP port has officially been cancelled due to it being "impossible" The HWID just isn't changeable via software.

it's quite negligible now,IMO,just get Jailbreak Device or USB board that support PSGroove...
as long the PSP emulation development on PS3 still existi,I'm happy.

I'm not sure if this has been addressed already, but feel free to tell me to RTFT if it has. Is there any current way around games forcing certain firmware updates? I know 360 games can package new dashboard updates in the games, so for an exploit that is so version dependent, seems it could be broken pretty quickly with some sneaky game work on Sony's end.

someone on TL/PSXscene forum says he resolved the updating games problem..
would be interesting:
Quote: | guys i finally found a way, before it hits the news;
So; last night all night!
after reading and attempting a debug file update [ps3 news] which successfully updated my uncharted 2 to 1.09 I got exited and started to experiment! I have managed to get the retail package downloaded from PsN onto the pc then use demo installer package and put on the ps3 then to extract the files successfully....BUT in jb mode it was crashing so... after 3 hours of trial and error I went to bed
Today I used SFO edit to check and editing using sport champions as a template made a new SFO which still crashes the bitch out of it!
So its help time guys, suggestions as its eboot.bin time.... and I have no idea...
below is the process;
1. setup the ps3 proxy server on pc and give it a test / make sure firewall rights are ok
2. start a game that needs an update [best to use a game with 1 update e.g. dantes inferno] using backupmanager, start the update then cancel..goto pc
3. get out of the game to XMB
4. start up the ftp app on the ps3
5. the proxy app will grap the link, download it using your pc
6. use the demo packager to package it and upload via ftp
7. shutdown the ps3 restart the ps3 in normal mode [non jb]
8. install the package which will be on your xmb
9. restart in JB and attempt to run the game.. it will crash..
BUT files are now there... clean and ready..
Ok all you need to do to get the shit going it to...
Download the data installed by the update package to your pc... then ftp too your GAMEZ/title folder let it overwrite the files...
Please some one test this...
OOOOOO SHIT!!!
Hahaha
