I want to know what the event is, so I suppose I am somewhat invested, but there are so many stupid moments in the first episode...

Instead of going to the security office with the guard (where they could check CCTV footage from the previous night for his whereabouts) he decides to just run away.
The secret service rushes the president to his car, and then everybody proceeds to just stare at the plane that is about to obliterate them. For like a fucking minute. |
If it turns out to be aliens I will be pissed off.

LOST was "an event" until the last season and the series finale decided to show up. Not sure I want to invest/commit my time again to a series written by those two writers after 7years became someone's f**k'n dream.

ok so considering all other shit that is on right now - this was fairly watchable
I agree with cirithungol on about every thing he pointed out in the spoiler but whatever, it's watchable to keep me interested at least to find out what is "the event"

Actually dream ending would have been so much better than the actual ending... 
If at the end, at the final 5 seconds, Hugo wakes up in the mental ward with Dave saying "Yo dude, another nightmare?", I would have appreciated this show a lot more than the nonsense ending (and most of season 6). |

Well it was a decent start, but Flashforward had a nice enough pilot and ended up going nowhere anyway... although it did pick up closer to the end of the season.
Anyhow, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they'll manage to keep things interesting.
When it comes to sci-fi in TV shows nowadays, stuff like that is either aliens, time travel/paradox or an alternate universe(almost every show has that one, so you keep hearing that same lecture on the alternate reality topic every time... it's nowhere as fun as it used to be anymore).
Aliens theory seems too obvious, but after all that time it's hard to expect some one to come up with a truly new idea anyway.

In my opinion, it was a really good start to a very promising show. Someone mentioned Flashforward premier being good- i'd disagree. This, imho, was a much better episode 1.
Obviously it COULD be shit, but I suspect this'll be near enough the next lost providing they continue up the quality of the show.

| Spoiler: | I thought it already opened alot of doors and idea right from the get go... you got the presi not being told what the fucks been going on with some project or something or other for ages... you got him meeting these "people/the project" and then the leader who ever she is saying shes not telling him everything..
Not to mention a rift in time or something opening in broad daylight with a whole jet dissapearing infront of the publics eyes.. Just when this "leader" was going to announce something about themselves...
It does scream aliens/species of sorts more than anything else really to be honest but i guess we find out bit more maybe on monday for more ideas.. |

Ok I can kind of see why someone would compare this to FlashForward but Lost? What does this show have to do with Lost? Is it the plane in the first episode? Has to be the plane. Are we comparing all mystery shows to Lost now just because they're mystery?
Anyway first ep felt like an extended trailer and when it finished I was like "that's it?" but it interested me enough that I'll check out more episodes.

I know I will hate this show so I'm not even gonna try. The guys behind it, the trailer, the obvious "what do we do now" that will happen after season 1 or even halfway in the first season where it will lull into a standard procedural show
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!
