@dog-dog
Yeah, I know that, I just can't find where I can switch it (I mean in carrer mode, I know that there are separate options for Grand Prix).
@Theescapist
Actually, there are no engine blows, which honestly suck. But overall, good game. And comparing it to Grid or Dirt is pointless, F1 is F1.
With a Q6600 @ 2.4, 4GB DDR-2 and a 512MB 4850 I'm getting 25 fps max with everything on ultra. It's still playable, so that's not the problem, but what the hell? Sure, the game looks ok, but not THAT ok that I only get 25 fps. NFS Shift for example looks way better then this and maxed out I get at least double that amount of fps. Poor coding for sure :\

After a dozen of races, I can safely say that the game is overall rather decent.
Although this F1 2010 is far, very far from being a simulation (it's almost impossible to spin right round on dry tarmac, the damage is considerably approssimative, there are no engine blow outs, the braking system is totally unrealistic etc..), it managed to hook me thanks to the excellent reproduction of the F1 circus, the well made career mode and why not, the user-friendliness. Though I've got the impression that the lack of deep in the gameplay department will get the boreness factor to emerge earlier than expected..
As a big formula one fan this doesn't seem that bad at all. The features are disappointingly Fisher Price, but because I'm a fan of the sport I find I can still 'get into it' and enjoy it for what it is.
...or at least I could if it didn't drop to ridiculous FPS levels! It took ages to configure my wheel to anywhere near controllable, then it took an age to work out the audio driver was laggy, and now I'm stuck with low FPS around corners where throttle input can get laggy and spin me right out. Even putting the settings on the absolute lowest provides no discernible frame rate boost. It's ridiculous. I'm guessing my CPU just isn't cut out for all the advanced AI calculations? [/sarcasm] Oh well.
game optimization is bad.atleast for me. 1024x NOAA all low 20-25fps. But i found my documents/my games/formulaone/hardwareconfig. so im closed all effects etc. now,i have decent fps to play.

Yeah, unfortunately the framerate drops are quite randomly generated (though they're more frequent around the corners), and they seem to be unaffected by the graphical settings.
i tested it just for the fuk of it and to my surprise it runs 60fps with v-sync on
@1680, max everything + 8aa, well it was default, driving is incredibly derped up even on max difficulty if that makes any changes at all, makes grid feel like a sim

- a patch that allows to change the sensitivity/dead zone when using a controller;
- a mod that removes the sepia palette.
You can use Pinnacle Game Profiler to adjust sensitivity/dead zone to your likings.Did this for x360 controller and now game is much more fun and playable with this controller.

Thank you, I didn't know this program, I'll try it in a few minutes
How will to 4890 1 gig card perform?
On 1920x1080 resolution?
I have this card, played everything I've thrown at it on high to ultra settings minus shadows which i turn to low or off.
Ryzen 5 3600 cpu@3.60 Mhz.
hyper x 32 gb ddr 4 memory.
Msi Carbon gaming pro ac motherboard.
Evga 600 psu.
Msi Armour rx 8 gb 5700 Graphic card.
Ps4 Standard 500gb.
Lg 4k 42 inch tv.
Oculus Quest 2.
BTW is that ultra setting everyone is talking about ATI thing? HIGH was the highest setting for me and looks like the screens here.
Or ultra=dx11 and everyone just haxored it it and use it with DX 10.1 cars (and then complain about framerate ).
Read earlier about the menu thing, same stupid thing going on as in Dirt2, where it takes for ever to get to graphics settings. Well I took the stupid part back, as game had set right resolution, settings maxed and 8xAA as default First ever game where auto detect didn't even need a button and applied settings were good.

Nice info on that Pinnacle Game Profiler, game is indeed super sensitive with xbox360 controller and grayed out advanced settings. But there should be an .xml for all those, remember seeing all my wheel setting in GRiD, as I manually editet most of them. But wheel testing time next, so I'll leave the Pinnacle just in bookmarks for now.
Oh, anyone tried if xbox360 controller can be used to look around while using a wheel? Hated that you couldn't do that in Shift, as look left and right didn't work with wheel, while with pad you could look what ever way you wanted.
----
edit: ahh, so much better with wheel And reply to my own question, yes xbox360 controller look around works together with wheel. You can even map additional thing to it's buttons if wheel doesn't have enough.
1:30:056 was a clean lap with xbox360 controller without helps in Monza with Lotus.
1:25:523 was a clean lap with wheel, no helps + manual gears. But I did more laps as I was tweaking wheel settings too.
You know what I see in this thread? A vocal minority voicing their hatred of the game after barely even playing it. Moaning about graphics, gameplay, every fucking aspect of the game with next to zero objectivity. It's like a deep south lynch mob, seriously.
Graphics are top notch.
Car setup is detailed but not overwhelming. (you guys have figured out how to adjust the car settings, right?)
Sense of speed is brilliant.
Sound is simply amazing.
Handling with 360 pad was a bit ropey initially, but playing with the car setup improved it drastically, without the need for other software.
My only criticism at this stage is the tiny pauses in the action, which usually cause an off. But instead of bitching about it like it's the end of the goddamn world, I'll wait for a patch and continue to play this fantastic driving game.
All you 'graphics are shit game is crap' noobs can blow a fat one, because it plainly isn't.

So, how do you really feel? yeah it's a pretty good time killer/.
2600k, GigaByte R9 290x, 8 gis of ram on Windows 7 X64
Well , actually doing practice laps really helps for once since it's pretty hard to figure out how and here to break .
Game isnt a walk in the park like DIRT 2 was , but it's still nice , but i won't be playing for more than 1 season that's for sure.
So, how do you really feel? yeah it's a pretty good time killer/.
Seriously, it's a top notch driving game. People just seem to have assumed it's a virtual reality simulator that let's you really drive the cars, shag a pussycat doll and earn a million for 2 hours work, and it's just a fucking great driving game. I mean, did people not play Grid and Dirt 2? What were they expecting?
Though I've got the impression that the lack of deep in the gameplay department will get the boreness factor to emerge earlier than expected..
I think so too after some more time with it.

On the official forums they've worked out it could be the replay data being cached to disk. It creates a 2GB file in /programdata/ - some say deleting it helps. I'm going to try it later.

Isn't it possible to select the level of damage ? It feels awkward and not right. I don't know, I thought it was far more realistic in Grid and Dirt2.
Damage is relatively poor, it could be the licensing, or it could be because they want it to appeal to casuals. I can't remember what open-wheel crashes looked like in GRiD, but I imagine they were better than this.
@ Leftos, my settings for x360 controller are Sensitivity 50% (i'm considering lowering it to somewhere between 35-40%) and dead zone 0%.I think i will edit LT and RT too because it feels too "soft" when you brake/accelerate.
@ Cartoon, you can use the mouse to steer with PGP program mentioned above.
^^ I'll check it with dead zone at 5%.I like the heavy feeling of the car that 0% provides but i think you're right and i'll just lower a bit the sensitivity.
