Nope, only done a couple time trials so far and brake balance was way off for monza and started to miss car setup. Figured they just left it out a the menus can be quite horrific Razz

It's in the central monitor. You can use quick tuning on the right option with the engineer, but best is to set manually in the center screen.

Yeah, unfortunately the framerate drops are quite randomly generated (though they're more frequent around the corners), and they seem to be unaffected by the graphical settings. Neutral

On the official forums they've worked out it could be the replay data being cached to disk. It creates a 2GB file in /programdata/ - some say deleting it helps. I'm going to try it later.

Didnt work for me.

There is also this on the Official Forums:

Windows 7:

1. Delete original "yourcomputername" (and therefore replay folder and file) by exploring to ProgramData\Codemasters\FormulaOne\DataCache\

2. Open Command Prompt with admin privileges (search 'cmd' and right click on cmd.exe and select 'Run as Adminsitrator')

3. Use mklink to create the symbolic link. This is what I typed, but you must edit this with your own file directories:

mklink /D C:\ProgramData\Codemasters\FormulaOne\DataCache\yo urcomputersname\ H:\Games\F12010\replay

4. When launching the game, the 2GB replay.pbf file will be written to the file location you have specified. If you write this file to another hard drive, resources are freed up for your OS and game performance should increase.

Any performance increases this has given me are within the margins of error.

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/f1-2010-technical-help-1343/428996-regarding-frame-skips-low-fps-lags-game-3.html

Edit:

Got it working and it seemed to do the trick. Where I was getting horrible lag and Frameskipping now seems to be working.

Yep, just found it by half accident, as I wanted to see if there was a way to forward time in practise session Smile

Looks plenty enough without needing to dust off trustly GP2 manual that explained every slow and fast rebound setting what effects they had for the car Very Happy

Sure is different trying to get a good lap with other cars on track too, trying not to mess up tyres (not that it would matter in my 10% race) and remember the pit limiter. Wanted it automatic, but seems you can't on expert. So had to map a button for that and ran out of buttons, look back had to go. Who needs that button anyways, I'm so fast that no-one is coming through! Rolling Eyes Laughing more ->

@OnBoard You can also map a button on the keybaord, it's not the end of the world. Put it on space bar or something, and then you can have a quick reach. Smile

Try deleting the "your computer name" folder also in step 1.
Had the same problem and it worked for me after that

Yep, but it's quite hard actually, as I have a pullout keyboard/mouse thing (what you call it) under desk and when wheel goes there it's pushed in and hard to reach.

But xbox360 controller works fine if I need more buttons. Newer wheel with more buttons would be a solutions too, but this oooollld one just lasts Very Happy

Spun in practise to middle of the road, soneone crashed to me and I got 5 places qualifying penalty. Qualified 13th, so started race 18th. Totally funked up start but got most of it back in first corner. Engineer shouted "take the pass!" tried to, but drove corner way too fast, spun and ended up 23rd. Then found out that tyre wear is much bigger is 10% race (or option tyre was just so bad that it went in 4 laps). So missed few brakings and got 10s penalty and ended up last Laughing Fun game.

new problem Sad
g25 wheel disconnects itself causing logitech profiler to hang & fail to respond to closing until wheel is disconnected & plugged back in but within seconds disconnects from game again.

this happens after loading time trial & reaching the pit screen, within a few seconds the wheel dies (spins wheel then no longer works)

was fine yesterday using same usb port & no game or logitech profiler settings changed at all(also tried another port)

thaught maybe it was due to the mklink i created but deleting the mklink the wheel still disconnects.

wheel tested on dirt2 & it's working perfect so somethings messed up with f1 2010.
checked ingame controller options reselecting g25 as controller & nothings changed.

deleted all saves/hardware configs/replay. wheel still disconnecting the same at pit screen.

edit - fixed by reinstalling game to save a headache

Yeap, it's practically the same color tint as in Grid. But in Grid, it was possible to remove it, so lets hope someone finds a way to do it here also. Smile

It shouldn't be hard, considering that probably the files that adjust the tint are those called lighting.xml inside the circuits folder Smile

ur supposed to be able to set it on the tyre options in the garage area, but all i see is a load f circles that you can tick with varying amounts of free spaces per tyre type and no idea how tthe feck that works..

Go to your Documents folder and then modify the file called "hardware_settings_config.xml" inside My Games\FormulaOne\hardwaresettings\

setting the parameter:

fullscreen="true"

yea its retarded why do they do it when so many people hated it in grid?

on whats suposed to be a clear sunny day it looks like its about to rain Rolling Eyes

every track looks miserable and it doesnt help that the game has the worst track lighting/shadows ive ever saw in a game , the tracks looks like something from 10 years ago because they are so plain and bland.

the track shadows could be painted on the textures im not convinced they arent Laughing

there was all this hype about how in a 100% race you would notice the track shadows shifting as the sun moves what track shadows? the game seems to be missing all lighting and shadows , the particle effects are almost non existant and theres barely any dust when you enter the gravel , the smoke looks shit even when your trying to do a huge burnout.

SIMS can get away with this because they are all about the hardcore physics and realism this isnt its an arcade game and needs to look like a fucking computer game released in the last few years.

the cars look pretty good but everything else is pretty "meh"

lets take a screenshot i made earlier at canada

surely one side of the track should have shadows from the wall , fence trees?
