Hey son, it will be released. Give it time.
Maybe they're just fuckin', with Steam being uncrackable and all.

Does it make any sense to say that the groups are waiting for the "real" release? The one you can buy in the stores - because that somehow is easier to crack? Or is it just the same as the steam-release - only on a CD?

Fucking hell they need to hurry up with the release, not because the owe us anything. But because the world without civ 5 is not enough. And paying for it seems stupid because 2k Games screwed everyone with Mafia 2, they will do it again. Fuck that shit, i am playing this shit for free.

I see this topic getting more depressing by the minute, let's act like Civilization IV is the game we've all been waiting for. Guess what? IT'S RELEASED!! OMFG!!!

Maybe this helps?

Woke up to the sound of the doorbell ringing this morning. My copy of CIV just arrived.

From the past few hours, here are my personal first impressions:
- The UI needs some getting used to, as it drastically differs from the old ones.
- I kinda like most of the new concepts, although I have to re-learn much that i know about how to play civ, since the same approach just does not work here.
- There is a marathon mode, that actually feels like a marathon and not sprint.
- I kinda like the new combat system. Especially how cities can live on their own and how fights are not fought to the end.
- There are some minor usability issues with the UI, like you have a hard time getting info on an enemy unit (you can hover the mouse over it, but thats all i found). Also the unit orders list sometimes overlaps with the unit info box, but these are minor issues to be honest, and probably also related to the somewhat low vertical resolution im playing with.

All in one, this pretty much feels like a new approach to the civilization series, and not just a plain sequel.

Well, I just succeeded fixing this by modding CIV5Technologies.xml

By changing Disable tag for TECH_FUTURE_TECH from true to false, game won't hang up when all techs are researched. You'll be able to select future tech and keep playing.

P.S.
I quickly tested it by reducing cost of all other techs to 1. Worked fine, as far as I've seen.

It also appears you can "remove" the turn limit by going into:

..\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v - demo\Assets\UI\InGame\Popups\EndGameMenu.Lua

find function OnBack()

replace it with

Quote:

function OnBack()
UIManager:DequeuePopup( ContextPtr );
--local languageType = Locale.GetCurrentLanguage().Type;
--if languageType == "de_DE" then
-- Steam.ActivateGameOverlayToWebPage("http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930?l=german");
-- elseif languageType == "it_IT" then
-- Steam.ActivateGameOverlayToWebPage("http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930?l=italian");
-- elseif languageType == "fr_FR" then
-- Steam.ActivateGameOverlayToWebPage("http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930?l=french");
-- elseif languageType == "es_ES" then
-- Steam.ActivateGameOverlayToWebPage("http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930?l=spanish");
-- else
-- Steam.ActivateGameOverlayToWebPage("http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930");
-- end
end

(Clicking the buy the game button will let you continue, in theory, haven't tested it in practice since i got no 100 turn saves)

You can also enable the other civs in the aforementioned civ.xml (Barbarian/mini-civs crashes the game)

i do the stuff for turn limit and that's ok !!! thx dude !

Guys should I change in CIV5Technologies.xml this part

in order not to get stuck with all researched technologies?

Yes.

But note that it will work only once, and after next game restart, game will go back to default settings (XML change will stay, but won't be applied). So you'll need to delete Civ5CoreDatabase.db from Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5 Demo\cache folder every time you want modified rules to apply (will work once, and would need another delete on next restart).

Still playing my demo game on 141 turn (gone to 99, then rolled back to 49).
So actual turn in game is 91. Very Happy

Considering the flow of the game, it seems strange it was limited to 100 turns. 150 would've been much better value. Enough to experience most of the content that demo gives, without drying up tech research.

You know the funny thing is that the delay in a pirated copy of the game is actually MAJOR news for Steam, and for PC gaming as a whole, if its hard to crack more developers will get back on the band wagon. But then again, I wont be buying games unless they get a 90%+ on MetaCritic because of the serious lack of quality in the genre.

This game is friggan awesome! I am on turn 497 and watching the AI make some seriously flawed tactical decisions... AI is weak but the game as a whole is amazing!
