The dev's were really touting the AI this time around. I wonder if the difficulty level has something to do with the poor AI choices many people are seeing.

You can try my beta techs patch for demo.
Instructions:
1. Unpack to game folder (i.e. X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\sid meier's civilization v - demo)
2. Before each game run delete contents of X:\Users\<User>\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5 Demo\cache

I still don't know if they will actually work, but i've compared full game and demo files, and found that all resourses are present in demo.
Waiting for feedback. If not working, please don't beat me, maybe have forgotten some files.[/url]

Anyone experiencing the issue with loading terrain textues after scrolling map to different area? It takes 0.5s but is quite annoying. Can't figure out why it's happening.

^ I noticed that too, in demo. But only right after loading saved game. Using DX11 exe (with my DX10 4850 radeon).

It shows all techs, but they are empty (no new buildings or units to unlock).
(same as in your pic above)

Your're right, opened sccoustics and it's now working (without opening new buildings). Feels like not only tech are missing...
The good news is that it continues to research new tech, so we can at list win the game, just checked this )

If you downloaded the demo then install the game from steam, it actually uses most of the assets from the demo. It does download some content but it seems like a lot of the stuff necessary is actually contained in the demo.

Yeah, it crash.
I managed to activate the "advanced settings" button though, but changing stuff has no effect, except for starting location and setting up teams.
At least you can explore the other continent of the demo that way. Razz

BTW, for those experiencing crash in the demo : Lock the turn counter on a multiple of 10 (10,20,30,...) and it'll autosave every turn.

The one annoying thing is that units on auto-explore will constantly wander into city states territories and cause them to hate me. It's really annoying to have to micro-mange my scouts.

I think whatever you change, the game will detect the changes and every time you try to access turn 1 the game will crash. Don't think it's possible to do anything unfortunately.

I've done something like 200-250 using Civ5.Demo.Hack-SpecTRe without any crash.
Do you clean cache folder each time you run the game?
