"TrackIR not supported and people getting angry about obvious bugs "

Well Trackir appears to be working for some, but not me at the moment, and that is with updated profiles.......

One has to wonder how pathetic their QA team is if they allowed something like this to slide by.

They were prob more concerned testing on long laps, hoping to catch more errors the longer they stay out on track. could of been a simple oversight i guess, it seems to just be really related to timing and compressed track % run..

A simple oversight of the default setting? How many times they run a full 20% race, 1-2 times? That's what I meant by "pathetic QA team" indeed.

What a joke.
I'm never, ever buying a game at launch ever again seriously.

What? Did you even click on custom race.

Custom race has a browser and a search function. Rolling Eyes

The MP is missing a couple of features but it's pretty entertaining tbh.

yeah well pathetic maybe but im saying they probably being pathetic in the way of assuming that hey if the longer races are fine and we find little issues here, then why should it be different in a shorter race.. is what im getting at.. Very Happy

I blame the management at setting the QA daily arrangement not the testers generally Very Happy

I just selected 'difficult' in career mode and now the damage is much more realistic ! That's nice. Is it even better in expert mode?

does anyone have the same issues with the game as i do -> sometimes it keeps on crashing to the desktop after you finish the final race. And usually it freezes when it starts to load the screen after the 2nd race is finished.

btw - about the difficulty - just select custom difficulty before the race. It lets you enable lots of stuff that's not enabled with easy AI.

Here is a version of surface_materials.xml with 25% less grip than the original, if you want to try. Backup your file and replace with this one.

Sounds nice. Wink

Yes, in expert mode, the corner of the wing can be chipped etc.

Ok thanks but I can't choose to have full damage/tyre wear/etc. and two or three instant replays.

Because the only way to have full damage is to choose expert mode where no replays are allowed, right ?

True, unfortunately I believe that the parameter that modifies the grip is only one for both the dry and wet conditions Crying or Very sad

Couple of things: In the pitstops you have to brake at the last second, or it slows down the stop. You can set this automatic, as well as the pit limiter in the race options. Second, stay out an extra lap or two after the window opens. You don't get bogged down in the pit lane. As for the 360 pad, it is a little twitchy, but as yet you can't alter the settings eg deadzone unless you use a third party app for the controller. I forget what it's called but it works apparently.

Me, well I just stayed out in the practice sessions until I got used to the pad. It requires a bit of patience but you will get used to it. I've pretty much mastered the first couple of circuits, just stay with it, don't be put off by the comments in this thread; just give it longer than an hour and it will be one of the best racers you've played. It helps if you like F1, naturally.

Well, uhm, try a higher difficulty? Or are you saying that you've mastered this on all aids off and top difficulty already?

If you can't find excitement driving cars like these, then no, this game isn't for you.

i swear the ai drivers have a tighter steering lock than me,
taking some corners wide as hell at a snails pace & struggle to get round it clean,
then at same time an ai can take a corner faster & tighter on the inside & come out of it tighter than me when i'm going in real wide lol fker's.

or it's cause i'm noob to f1 other than the odd races in the old toca games.

Dont be suprised in your thoughts, i also tend to feel they have better lock capability than myself, and again its more noticeable in wet weather.. i keep saying hey its just me going too fast but if i stop to a crawl to make the tight turns and not slide even at a slowish speed ill never make up the laptimes..

i was flying round spa last night & it felt better (only time trial)
today my lock felt so short i was double checking game options for the wheel & even quit out to check the profiler had'nt changed itself Smile

pissing it down of rain on spa with a full grid of cars is squeeky bum time trying to see where the fuck the corner are coming up lol.
best placing i've managed after countless restarts mid race cause of driver error is 5th.

difficulty expert, with just abs & traction control on,with a wheel amatuer driving.

good game, fps could be better though, gfx settings lower make no difference compared to ultra.

edit shitty tint needs to go.

Hmm many mixed feelings around here, and i was being very negative after reading all this, then i got the game and tried it, im not using a wheel so i cant say anything about the Force Feedback etc, using a Xbox360 controller, yeah sometimes it kind of lags when AIs get near me, and yeah the GFX arent Crysis etc but they do look very nice when ur into the game.

I dont know if theres such a difference between the dificulties, but i started playing on expert ever since i installed, and i dont know, im really enjoying the game, the driving might not be superb, and the fucking audio lag on the shifting really puts me off, but im really enjoying this, really really, i used to play gtr2 on a G25 online, its no GTR, but it feels GREAT.

So far ive done 3 full practices (repeated a lot until i learned the track Bahrain) and i absolutely enjoyed finding the braking points, the correct line, playing with the throttle on the exits, careful with the bumps and jumps and the throttle response, it just feels NICE, im really getting the feeling that i gotta do better and drive very very neatly. This isnt full arcade, if its considered full arcade then u gotta be fucking good to master it, its challenging.

Then came a damn wet qualify, OMG that was fun i dont know how u guys driiving but im the wet, in inters im having a blast, im steering fine, im gripping great (unless i go into corners or exit with bad throttle control) and i spin a lot, but i restart unitl i learn.

Im enjoying it, maybe people arent playing it with enough concentration, but ive noticed many lil things driving around that i like.

BTW, penalties, in expert i CANT jump a corner, the ais are great, and hitting them, blocking them or anything or losing even 1 sec can reallly affect the outcome,

Penalties a joke??? damn Play in expert, i dont think its a joke, im even leetting the ais pass when i cant do my line, im THAT into it.
