I've been testing that as a alternate strategy but public proxies are crap for specific options like SOCKS5 or HTTPS so no success so far, game might be using SecuROM overlay as well and work differently as he said though it should unlock shortly after Sunday midnight in most of EU anyhow, something to fumble with though if nothing else happens, many other titles to play in the meantime however, haha.
EDIT: Of course without a valid serial (SSA is used.) it won't be working quite that easily even if someone provides the exe but would be fun to test.
(I put the relevant data on the previous page if anyone wants to try, original and unaltered so should be fine but apparently might not work and of course would only work in certain early unlocked regions like the Polish LIVE one as confirmed.)

Your argument would be valid if there was a scene release that worked before the retail version did, but since there isn't, I'd say the publishers did a good job a) protecting their product b) not pissing off their customers that the pirates can play before them.

D2Launcher will most likely use SecuROM though, any support files like Paul.dll or what is used is also needed unless it's part of the launcher exe directly.
(Having the files available might get it cracked earlier though I think the chance is rather low for it to happen but who knows.)
EDIT: Yeah that's SecuROM alright, with the files available it might still get cracked though.
(But the "scene" usually isn't very fond of public stuff and the like.)
Nicely done however, interesting that it allowed access but perhaps it never was encrypted like that in the first place if the release is a bit different for a few regions.
(Sort of negates the encryption method and date check altogether.)
