Strange, after doing that, it showed mods in installed section, where I could toggle them on or off.

.

Anyway, here are missing resource files for Babylon
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z3X4CKCK

They, in combination with previous files from multiupload link, will unlock Babylon properly (at least with skidrow release).

EDIT: link to other files

Curious.. I've read that the multiplayer is routed through Gamespy (which basically translates into keyless go). Now, while you can't select the Multiplayer mode when just launching the Skidrow release, I suspect that the Steam client just "unlocks" that button and feeds the game your Steam alias.

I vaguely remember there being Steam emulators around.. might those possibly allow one to fool the game into thinking one launched the Skidrow Civilization release via Steam, thus allowing the connection to the Gamespy master server?

I'm mostly spit-balling here, but I'm pretty confident about a) The game uses Gamespy to connect people online and b) that "Gamespy" strongly indicates (or is notoriously known for) no key-check or other verification being in place.

Can't try it right now, but I will tomorrow evening if someone gives me the name of a decent Steam emu. I'm way out of the loop.

I;m pretty sure that gamespy is used for mod distribution (that's why mod browsing works with skidrow release). Not sure about actual multiplier. The button is grayed out in skidrow release, exempt LAN.

Fixed my mod problem. I was using a Mods folder within Civ5's (a la Civ4), but then I realized mods are now supposed to be stored in Documents. Sucky choice, if you ask me, particularly if you know two things about computers and keep a C:\ partition strictly for the OS and essential applications, like I do.

There has been a small bug-fix pushed-out for Civilization V. Not sure if its live in steam yet, but will be very soon.

Issues fixed include:

Game now runs if user path includes special characters.
AI will now make gold per turn deals in amounts other than 5 GPT.
Open borders is canceled immediately if war is declared and troops in enemy lands displaced.
AI valuation of cities in trades and peace deals improved.
Unit maintenance now scales appropriately in Time Limit games.
Various crash fixes.

Thanks to Ed Beach (Lead Gameplay-AI Programmer for Civ5) for the info!

thanks for the update peter980.

Is there a Nebuchadnezzar_scene_aux file in the assets/leaders/xml_aux folder? I see all the other leaders have one but not the babylonians.

So, the files don't have any kind of encryption as it was mentioned a page or two back and I just have to copy them over into the corresponding folders using the skidrow release, and it should work?

just copy them in appropriate place, and it will work with skidrow version

p.s.
Note that saves from game played with dlc will crash if loaded on computer that has no Babylon dlc (even if Babylon isn't used as player or foe in that game).

It's not important. It just adds Babylon to the civilizations and you can play with it.

I can't seem to get the DLC to work, I have Skidrow release and tried to put the files in the DLC folder and in their appropriate non DLC folders, neither works.
Where do I have to put the Babylon.Civ5Pkg?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Assets\DLC\DLC_Deluxe

It goes in there. (Or a similar location, depending on your OS/installation directory.)

If someone can give me a list of the Deluxe files, I can upload them (if that's allowed) with the file structure intact, then there shouldn't be any problems.

Whats your views on the era changes? i played other civ games years back and with the latest release now this still jumps out at me, and that is you progress extremely fast in relation to resources being accumulated...

great UI though, really like it, countless hours lost to the game to come im sure..

It's missing all Babylonian files that go to resource folder. You need one of the downloads from here to make it work.
