It might be expanded later on but I found nothing so far that could be related to a quest with that area so they should be safe to dispose of.
(Would update as well if there was a quest condition on them in the form of a quest update pop-up message, I killed them and have explored most of the middle region without finding anything related to such a quest at least.)

The lore is pretty good. Reading books is really great, the story is far from a simple "good vs. bad". What's written is also very professional and fluid, no amateurish texts to be seen here.

...Or is it just in my game?

My German is decent, I know enough to understand what I read, I assure you that the untranslated notes are insignificant. I have seen two untranslated books though, but even those didn't add much to the main lore. So you're not missing much.

I'm starting to feel that the game is slightly unbalanced for a build like mine; I just went cruising into the Dark Forest with a lvl 15 character, and had absolutely no problem sneaking around and taking out any kind of enemy at a distance. My Sneak and Marksman skills are around 75 due to training, and the high sneak attack multiplier (x5) allows me to take down pretty much anyone from afar with 3-4 consecutive hits.
I am really blown away by this game so far, even if I did nothing more than exploring. Much better than Oblivion with or without mods.
On a side note I just tested it in WinXP x86 and got pretty much the same performance.
I had to know.
EDIT: 22 hours in, by the way. Prognostic for thoroughly finishing this game any sooner than 2011: slim.

Thanks for the info JB. Didnt know (as is a mod, albeit a very, very good one) if the "accidentally" done quests would update, like in exemple, the bountys on bandits, could you happen to pass by the cave and kill them, and then that bounty would never appear on the board, or that specific lot of opponetns only appear at said location after you acept the bounty hunt. But no fuss, will came back later, really loving this mod.
You cant load for sure any other files with it? At least the beauty and boobs mod for realism

You won't be able to enter the caves/hideouts without taking the bounty quests. Quest NPCs are alo unkillable, they just go unconsious.
@tonizito: the level indications are only indications, not really set rules. You might get your ass kicked in a dungeon in that area for example while killing wolves and such is no problem.
PS. Do I visit the main towns while following the main quest? I usually leave the big cities for the main quest in RPGs since it'll take you there anyway. Is this the case in Nehrim as well or should I explore the cities right now (just started ch2 at lvl 19).

Still, better this than Oblivion where you needed 234436 arrows to kill an enemy and even if you were at a reasonably distance they would home in on you after the first shot, unless your sneak skill was 50+.

You can use any mods you want LuckyStrike, I use numerous texture replacers and OBSE, however any ESP mod needs Tes4Edit or similar to alter Oblivion.esm to Nehrim.esm and of course anything adding to the Oblivion gameworld won't really show up in Nehrim.
(I use a few things like body replacers and enhanced visual modifications so rather minor stuff.)

You can enter the towns when you want to, it won't affect any quests as such though part of the story occasionally takes place at certain specific town locations (Should already have actually during one part during early chapter 1 with that guard.) though areas important for future events are closed off (Palace area to use one example.) or otherwise not accessible to prevent issues, other than that there's still a lot to explore but not that much in actual quest content (And the shops weren't all that good.) though there isn't that many larger cities either, mostly made up of smaller settlements with the occasional quest available instead.
(Infact I think there's only two, possibly three.)
I'd recommend clearing the bank out as a personal notice, it's not easy (Will take a while.) but very interesting.

My fps takes a huge dip on teh road to Treomar. Is this normal? Especially when casting spells I get single digit frames. I don't see how the graphics could be so much heavier on the road from the mountain monastry to Treomar.

The "chest" is found in most locatations and all of them can be accessed from wherever, or rather there's only one and it's in multiple locations so which ever you access will show the goods you've stashed, unsure who sells/buys stolen goods, probably the thieves if you got in contact with them.
Spoiler: |
During that second main quest side mission for the sanctum to wipe the guard officers mind you get in contact with a thief, if you spare him and agree he'll lead you to the thieves guild, nothing to do there aside from bartering or training but useful to have access to for those reasons alone, guarded by goblins and ghouls at times though as the place is a dungeon sort of.

Thanks JB!!! This game/mod is AMAZING, but sucks that stolen goods just pile up in your inventory.....especially when you go into a deep deep dungeon only to be "overburdened" half-way through.

Logging shit around mod doesn't seem to cooperate with Nehrim.
CTD upon launching. Tried putting the .esp in different loading order....doesn't seem to help
Thanks tho!

vurt wrote: | Hehe ok, i read somewhere it is the size of Morrowind, which sounds great.. Installing Oblivion now | Hard to judge it against Morrowind or Oblivion, but I'm 25 hours in and so far I've found 61 places without leaving from the center part of the map (excluding my little recreational trip to the Dark Forest ).
For every place that I've visited, I'd say that there are 4-5 locations in it's vicinity that I didn't check out (between mines, caves, forts, landmarks and small villages).
So I'd say that the world is pretty huge.
Add to that that pretty much every location is rather unique and that some of them trigger quests, and you can start to begin to understand the scope of this mod.

Too much cool stuff in this game. My attention span is quite short though and I feel I'm gonna get bored before I finish it. Generally happens when I feel the need to explore every single bit of the game. (Both good and a bad thing actually)
I explore too much and just get bored of the gameplay while the main quest just sits and waits.

Be sure to follow the main quest occasionally. It's a good diversion and it's quite good.
Does anyone else have crappy performance between teh mountain monastry and Treomar?

Yeah, that forest is a problem. Saw in their forums a suggestion to opening the console and using "tll" (to turn down distance land) on that part (did it, since the framerate was so bad taht it was almost impossible to figth on that area).
