My Cats are ancient, heh, still on 10.5.. and DR2 uses 100% CPU for me, both cores. Pretty intense ^_^

@ienni

I feel like I'm missing several cutscenes here, because it feels like you're just dumped into the game with no idea who your character is, why everyone seems to hate him (before the outbreak happens, I mean) and what the hell happened with his backstory. What happened to his wife? Why is his daughter infected?

Call me crazy, but I like a bit of info on stuff I'm supposed to care about Very Happy

Unomtimized p.o.s. game :\ Graphics aren't that great (looking at it from a PC point of view) and yet I have to dissable blur and AA to get a descent fps. And the blur doesn't even looks great either! Even from the key mappings txt file you can tell it's all ment to be played with a controller. Running isn't even assigned ffs!

Really, what's the use of a Quadcore, a 512MB-DDR5 graphics card and 4GB DDR2 system memory if dev's keep giving us bad ports? For instance, Crysis, released back in 2007, surpasses most of the games we play now-a-days graphics wise. And better yet, it runs great on my system. The Source engine, which is from 2004 (!!!) is also surpassing most of the releases we get now-a-days graphics wise. Sure, it had some alterations to keep up with the current gen graphics, but it also runs great on my system. And the connection between the two? They were both made to run on PC in the 1st place...

Thanks for the launcher sealab. Works to activate GFWL. But either your launcher or the now running GFWL is causing a performance hit. Game gets laggy and constantly loads from HDD => stutter ingame. With the Skidrow crack the performance was perfect on my rig. Strange issue.

While the trainer somebody posted can freeze the clock it does not freeze the 72h time until the military arrives :/

Laughing Laughing Laughing

As for me; I doubt I'll be playing it much longer. It's annoying me Sad

1. Performance is shit. I know my PC isn't top of the range, but I get framerate in the 20s unless there's no zombies around... that's just hideous. Sigh.
2. The story is confusing the shit out of me because I wasn't a moronic cunt who PAID for a demo which leads the story into DR2.

Ah well, no biggie.

Srsly... I took some minutes before I digged what you're complaining about. Now I fully agree. This is retarded...
And I don't get all the hype about the Dead Rising games.. is it because they're gory? Imho they aren't. SoF2, that was gory Very Happy

There's no way to keep clothing, right?
I mean, there's a clothing locker in the safehouse restroom but it only stores DLC clothing and "reward" clothes whatever that means.
Damn. Now I gotta go back to wherever I found that spiffy black and yellow hawaii shirt Very Happy

Sad That's a shame, at least there was a locker in the first game (and a fuckload of clothing you could have as well)

@m3th0d

Aye, that's it. Still; best thing to do is simply use the trainer and keep putting the clock back an hour or so. It doesn't help with the 72hr timer before the military arrives, but it does give you enough time to clear the side missions and explore a little. I've been playing for a while now (disabling blur was awesome, framerate is great now - though I still have AA/Vsync disabled) and I've not needed the trainer just yet ... but I know I will eventually Rolling Eyes

One thing that is really pissing me off though, is the controls. The only place to even LOOK at them is in a frakin' txt file!? That's just low, Capcom

ok pulled this from another site and says it works to fix wireless controller problems

"I've been messing with this all day on and off, and i got it working.

1. get x360ce posted earlier
2. unpack it to your dead rising 2 directory
3. start the program, load 360 default
4. turn force feedback off
5. turn native mode off
6. save, exit, run dead rising 2.
7. turn the controller on in the pc settings menu."

every time i try and fix the settings in 360ce it crashes so idk wth going on maybe some one else could give it a go

I feel for you my brother. Unoptimized release after release...it's like they're fueling the hardware industry. Will try dissabling motion blur.

Also I keep wondering wtf is ATI doing half the time. They release a driver monthly usually followed by a hotifix to fix the shit that they broke in the new release and no game optimization for ages. It's not like we have so many titles....they used to have better releases back in the old days when there like what - 15titles per month?! or at least they tried to do a good job.

Game is an unoptimized piece of shit. PC Options? Really? Where's the option to..you know...remap my fucking controls?

1920x1200, everything on high, blur off, AA off, 120 fps when looking in one direction, dips to 40 as soon as I turn my view. Straight console port trash.

Edit - Fixed, by NOT using the launcher and files the guy a few pages back posted. Framerate is fine now - still inexcusable that I can't remap keyboard controls in game.

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I've had that problem... Somehow the games volume is turned way down. When the game 1st started the volume was normal up to the point where you have to cut down as many zombies as you can on your bike. I’ve had to turn my speakers up all the way from that point on.

Funny, I've got the low volume only in cutscenes.
