Which drivers do you have? 4870X2 with 10.9 is as fluid as can be 4xAA and everything on high. |
My Cats are ancient, heh, still on 10.5.. and DR2 uses 100% CPU for me, both cores. Pretty intense ^_^
@ienni
I feel like I'm missing several cutscenes here, because it feels like you're just dumped into the game with no idea who your character is, why everyone seems to hate him (before the outbreak happens, I mean) and what the hell happened with his backstory. What happened to his wife? Why is his daughter infected?
Call me crazy, but I like a bit of info on stuff I'm supposed to care about |
Spoiler: | Chuck Greene and his daughter Katey are fleeing from the outbreak in Las Vegas, where Katey's mother turned into a zombie and bit Katey. Chuck hears on the radio that the military has set up a 50 mile perimeter around Las Vegas, which includes a nearby town called Still Creek, 46 miles away from the overrun city. The military is planning on quarantining the entire zone and screening everyone at the blockades, one of which is at the eastern end of the town.
After Chuck and Katey arrive in the desert town of Still Creek, they stop at a gas station for supplies, only to have their truck and supply of Zombrex stolen by a survivor. Unfortunately for Chuck, the last of the soldiers at the blockade have been killed, leaving him and his daughter trapped in the overrun town without help. Whilst searching an overturned ambulance for Zombrex, he overhears from the radio of a dead soldier that the military plans on taking back the town come nightfall; now Chuck not only has to survive, but has to find an escape route as soon as possible, or risk losing his daughter to the military.
In addition to finding Zombrex and bike parts, he also rescues several survivors; however, he also meets a psychotic mechanic, who knows Katey is infected and wants to kill her for his "trophy" collection, and Chuck is forced to kill him to defend his daughter. Just as the military arrives, Chuck is able to escape town with his daughter, while the rest of the survivors in the safe house are collected and brought to safety in military custody.
Later on, Chuck comes across his truck, with the driver that stole it dead inside from unknown causes. Chuck gets off the bike and goes to the truck to scavenge their supplies; their supply of Zombrex, Katey's backpack, a picture of Katey, and his Motocross jacket. Chuck puts on the jacket, gets back on the bike with Katey, and rides off. |

Unomtimized p.o.s. game :\ Graphics aren't that great (looking at it from a PC point of view) and yet I have to dissable blur and AA to get a descent fps. And the blur doesn't even looks great either! Even from the key mappings txt file you can tell it's all ment to be played with a controller. Running isn't even assigned ffs!
Really, what's the use of a Quadcore, a 512MB-DDR5 graphics card and 4GB DDR2 system memory if dev's keep giving us bad ports? For instance, Crysis, released back in 2007, surpasses most of the games we play now-a-days graphics wise. And better yet, it runs great on my system. The Source engine, which is from 2004 (!!!) is also surpassing most of the releases we get now-a-days graphics wise. Sure, it had some alterations to keep up with the current gen graphics, but it also runs great on my system. And the connection between the two? They were both made to run on PC in the 1st place...

Thanks for the launcher sealab. Works to activate GFWL. But either your launcher or the now running GFWL is causing a performance hit. Game gets laggy and constantly loads from HDD => stutter ingame. With the Skidrow crack the performance was perfect on my rig. Strange issue.

The time limits are just.... bleh. I don't usually mind time limits, but in THIS game? All it does is limit your exploration and if that's the case, why give us this huge world to explore and find secrets in anyhow?

There's no way to keep clothing, right?
I mean, there's a clothing locker in the safehouse restroom but it only stores DLC clothing and "reward" clothes whatever that means.
Damn. Now I gotta go back to wherever I found that spiffy black and yellow hawaii shirt

ok pulled this from another site and says it works to fix wireless controller problems
"I've been messing with this all day on and off, and i got it working.
1. get x360ce posted earlier
2. unpack it to your dead rising 2 directory
3. start the program, load 360 default
4. turn force feedback off
5. turn native mode off
6. save, exit, run dead rising 2.
7. turn the controller on in the pc settings menu."
every time i try and fix the settings in 360ce it crashes so idk wth going on maybe some one else could give it a go

I feel for you my brother. Unoptimized release after release...it's like they're fueling the hardware industry. Will try dissabling motion blur.
Also I keep wondering wtf is ATI doing half the time. They release a driver monthly usually followed by a hotifix to fix the shit that they broke in the new release and no game optimization for ages. It's not like we have so many titles....they used to have better releases back in the old days when there like what - 15titles per month?! or at least they tried to do a good job.

Game is an unoptimized piece of shit. PC Options? Really? Where's the option to..you know...remap my fucking controls?
1920x1200, everything on high, blur off, AA off, 120 fps when looking in one direction, dips to 40 as soon as I turn my view. Straight console port trash.
Edit - Fixed, by NOT using the launcher and files the guy a few pages back posted. Framerate is fine now - still inexcusable that I can't remap keyboard controls in game.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I've had that problem... Somehow the games volume is turned way down. When the game 1st started the volume was normal up to the point where you have to cut down as many zombies as you can on your bike. I’ve had to turn my speakers up all the way from that point on.

Funny, I've got the low volume only in cutscenes.
