If these two geniouses will give birth to a new game, it will probably be console exclusive. Sad

I'm still waiting to play Deathspank and Brutal Legend on PC. Sad

And even if for DS there's still hope, BL is a lost cause..

@ixigia
The idea of BL was fun but it got sort of boring along the way so it's not necessarily a "must play" kind of game.

I see, it gave me the same impression when I watched some gameplay videos on YT, let's hope that DS sees the light on PC sooner or later, it does look brilliant (and Sabin's comments on the game contribute to raise my hype even more, haha Razz)

+1
Although. How much is it anyways? I'm just too cheap to buy it anyway Very Happy

btw.
I just love how PC gamers hate on the consoles like there's no tomorrow.
Like there weren't any shitty/derpified PC exclusives (but then again, that's the consoles fault, too).
Due to past times in which I still had money I have all three consoles and a pc.
Now which stereotype/clichee do you wanna apply to me?

Gilbert announced he left Double Fine and he's working on an iOS game.

Now that The Cave is done and unleashed on an unsuspecting world (ok, we did do a bunch of PR, so it wasn't exactly unsuspecting), it's time for me to move on from Double Fine and plot my next move.

For the short term, Clayton Kauzlaric and I have been toiling away on another iOS side project that I'm going to focus on over the next few months. It's called Scurvy Scallywags in The Voyage to Discover the Ultimate Sea Shanty: A Musical Match-3 Pirate RPG. I'll post some screen shots in the next few days.

http://www.shacknews.com/article/78293/ron-gilberts-next-game-is-a-match-3-puzzler-for

Quote:

Scurvy Scallywags in The Voyage to Discover the Ultimate Sea Shanty: A Musical Match-3 Pirate RPG, or SSITVTDTUSS:AMMTPRPG for short, is Gilbert's next game. It attempts to change up the match-3 formula by having blocks not only come from the top, but from the sides as well, based on the direction of your swipes.

On his personal blog, Gilbert said that "I've always loved match-3 games, there is something zen-like about playing them."

Because the board will collapse in new ways, you can actually move your hero around the board and position him next to enemies to do battles. So yes, it's not only a match-3 game, but it's also an RPG, as mentioned in the title. Perhaps it will also sell the "billion" copies that Puzzle Quest did?

The iPad and iPhone version should be out in the next month "with any luck." An Android version may be released once Gilbert figures out how to "get xcode to build objective-c for Android."

That sure looks like a game that needed to be made.
To think he parted ways with Schafer for THAT Crying or Very sad
(notice I'm not that big of a fan of match X-number-of-things games)
