i started playing this for like 15 min. it's not sucking me in. my interest level is low even though i like the game simplistic concept. killing hordes and hordes of zombies what's not to like right? something about the game just doesn't make me want to spent time playing it.

oh, well. i'm sure i'll come back to playing it more after i'm ultra bored with civ v. Smile

Honestly, this game would get old fast if it didn't have the time limits. It's just not open ended enough. So the rush to get things done fast because of the time limit actually makes the game decent. It imposes a sense of urgency that one would expect during a zombie outbreak.

its the burning skull combo ( bull skull + motor oil ), for the combo card you have to insert about 1 million credits into the fortune teller

Alternate attack? I didn't even know about alternate attacks.

On another note, did anyone have this issue with antialiasing? When I turn it on, I get these blinking glitches everywhere, like the lighting is glitching up with the AA. I'm on a 9800GT, newest drivers. Weird issue.

Blur seems to be bugged on the latest nvidia drivers. If you turn it on, it seems to mess everything up.

Not a big deal though, since the blur effect in this game is shit and drops the framerate. No reason for blur on the PC version anyways since we have AA.

I turned off the blur and turned up the AA, and the glitching was still there.

Initially you'll have the time for it but more and more requests will pop in plus the main story time limit, most aren't essential as such but some can give bonuses and other useful extras in addition to a very large PP bonus.
(Old lady and drunk dancer for example can barely walk so carrying them or using a wheelchair for transport is highly useful, others need to be bribed, want to find other survivors or have to be slapped around a bit.)

EDIT: Unsure if you can actually save them all.
(Drinking mixes to create a speed potion might help.)

You can pick up the Leadership magazine to make the survivors a bit better, the ones you'd normally have to carry will then run like normal survivors. I'm having great fun with it, still not finished the first play through and up to level 30. Had to miss a few survivors out as it's not always clear which order you should do them in before the time runs out, would be nice if you had a better way of tracking which will end first without resorting to using a guide. I'm not going to bother with time trainers, if I want to mess about I'll just not bother doing the cases / zombrex I think.

That file is part of VC++ 2010 or rather VC++ 2010 redistributable (MSVCR80 or 70 being 2005 and MSVCR90 being 2008), however some people get issues even with it installed so copying the file to the game directory is one alternative, was covered earlier in the thread so for more detail do a search for MSVCR100 in the above thread specific search but using any googled .dll and placing it in the game folder apparently works.

you can also heal the survivors with food.

just give food to them...

you can even give them weapons so they slash the zombies Razz

Level 99 is the highest possible, farming is required to get that high however as is free-roam mode or whatever it's called when there's no time limits, unsure what the extra bonuses for getting that high are.
(There's a savegame on GCW with everything level specific unlocked like all abilities, cards - not the ones you get from reading or buying stuff - and such.)

Any way of using DeadRising.exe instead of the Launcher.exe without removing GFWL?

If I open the game from the DR.exe GFWL doesn't work, so I can't save.
If I open the game from the launcher.exe, GFWL works, but I can't use DxWnd to force windowed mode...

Oh, and if I try to use the Skidrows crack (DR.exe, Launcher.exe, xlive.dll) the game doesn't work at all.

I want to play it using DxWnd Sad

Well, this game brings my poor little laptop to it's knees.
Chuck-chuck-chuck. Everything in slow motion.
Might try dropping the resolution for the first time ever.

Also, couldn't even find the first objective (after you get to the safehouse). How the hell do you get out of the safehouse?
