You can't rebind gamepad keys, and can't use keyboard if any gamepad is plugged in. Keyboard settings are redefineable if it's the only controller plugged in.

If someone wants I can write a little guide and upload only the required files from the Language.Update. |
Please do
Though I'm not interested in the Language Update. |
OK, I'll include the Language.Update since with my repack it's really small!
How to integrate all the updates of Darksiders in the Disk2 ISO
What you need:
- Darksiders-SKIDROW;
- my "DS.Language.and.Update.1.Repack" archive; --> http://www.mediafire.com/file/ndqoksl1r75gnd5/DS.Language.and.Update.1.Repack.rar
- cracked files from Darksiders.Update.1.incl.Intaller.Fix-SKIDROW: I can't include these file, forum rules;
- a program like UltraISO.
NOTE: In the repack I included the installer fix, just replace the installer.exe in the Disk1 ISO, save and burn it.
Instructions:
1. Download my "DS.Language.and.Update.1.Repack" archive and extract it in a temporary folder;
2. Open the Disk2 ISO with UltraISO and delete all the files inside the "SKIDROW" folder EXCEPT the files listed in "SKIDROW folder content.sfv" (you can open it with a TEXT editor);
3. Get from the net "Darksiders.Update.1.incl.Intaller.Fix-SKIDROW", copy the cracked files to "..\Updates\Darksiders.Update.1.incl.Installer.Fix-SKIDROW\SKIDROW\" and delete the sfv file (it lists the required files);
4. Copy the "Updates" folder in the Disk2 ISO main directory;
5. Save and burn (or mount) the new ISO;
6. Install the game with your preferred language: my advice is to change the installation directory to "C:\Program Files\THQ\Darksiders\";
7. Copy the content from SKIDROW directory to your main installation directory and overwrite;
8. Chose your language folder in "..\Updates\Darksiders.Language.Update-SKIDROW\" and copy the content to your main installation directory and overwrite;
9. Run and install "Darksiders.Update.1.exe" from "..\Updates\Darksiders.Update.1.incl.Installer.Fix-SKIDROW\" and, OPTIONAL (since the original exe isn't protected), copy the cracked files to your main installation directory and overwrite (cracked 1.1 exe isn't compatible with 1.0 saves).
10. If you want to install the comic book, the soundtrack and the manual, run "DSInstaller.exe" from your main installation directory: it will install the additional content to "C:\Program Files\THQ\Darksiders\";
11. Run the game!
I hope it helps!

Once again, question; can the 1.1 update be used with any of the rips?

"Update 1" includes only 2 files: new DarksidersPC.exe and new DarksidersGFW.dll, so it sould work.

Holy crap. I've been playing this sodding game all day! At least 9hrs so far and I'm absolutely loving it, got a further on the PC ver than the 360 one. It's linear as all hell, but still incredibly satisfying.

It is so. And about the rest, you can't expect too much from a B game.

The game isn't perfect, has some repetitive mechanics, but I'm loving it

Should I get all or most "gadgets" before backtracking? I don't want to wait too long because most games have a point of no return, after which you're pretty much going to the endfight. Or do I get a warning like "explore you mofo!" when I'm near that point of no return?

It depends on how badly you want upgrades, so decide yourself. I went to some places I could get to quickly after getting a new item, and left others for later. Anyway, there's never a point of no return until the very end, you'll know when that is.

Yup, same here mate! Getting strong Soul Reaver vibes from this and the presentation is absolutely spot on, even if the visuals are looking a tad dated (I could be going crazy, but didn't the 360 version look considerably better?) |
Hehe true, as for the graphics well maybe it's because the original textures look quite stretched and flat at higher resolutions, since the game is pretty much the carbon copy of the 360 version

Ah well, the game is still marvellously fun. It's been a while since I found a truly fun and enjoyable game that I've sat and played for 9hrs STRAIGHT. The combat is great and the bosses are amazing, not to mention there's tons of puzzles and exploration to be done within each area. This is a game that definitely took its majority of cues from Soul Reaver.

What is the difference between the following two releases:
Darksiders.Update.1.incl.Intaller.Fix-SKIDROW
Darksiders.Update.1.incl.Installer.Fix.Dirfix-SKIDROW ?

It's a DIRFIX, it only fixes the letter "s" in the release name.

I've just finished the arena and killed that titan worm thingie. This game has reached a new level of greatness.
A sequel with a bigger budget, more attention to detail (some very obvious corners are cut), a good PC port and more CGI movies would absolutely be fabulous.

The Black Throne level is unbelievably boring as well. I can't force myself to finish the game. "Portal gun" is fun and all. Puzzles were fun at first, but after second mini "beam" boss, it's very repetitive. Same puzzles again, same enemies. And then I have to return to every location for something? I wish there was a speedhack or something. I know, I am picky, but game should be fun, and to me, towards the end, developers probably were probably trying to lengthen the game at expense of fun factor. But other than that game was really great.
