Both the games have their flaws and they're still very far from representing the definitive football simulation, but I find the FIFA's physics engine, freedom of play and smoothness of animations fairly superior to PES'. This doesn't mean that I consider PES 2011 to be bad, in fact it can still provide me a remarkable dose of fun a s well

Oh man, I used to play the World Soccer and Winning Eleven series (ISS) on Playstation 1 with a friend in Japanese. It was so hilarious, especially with the commentary ("harikanu yama ... gol gol gol gol gol gol gol gol" ). Those were the days... 
His father had some friend who knew some Japanese, so we had some of the menus mapped up and knew so/so what to select to start leagues and tournaments. |

Mit PES 2011 präsentiert Konami das bislang größte Maß an Neuerungen
in Sachen Gameplay, Kontroll-Optionen und Animationen, das es jemals
innerhalb der Pro Evolution Soccer Serie gab. Ein wesentlicher Aspekt
ist die neue Freiheit der Bewegung: Die neue Power-Anzeige in PES 2011
erlaubt es Spielern, die Stärke und Zielgenauigkeit von jedem einzelnen
Pass und Schuss exakt zu bestimmen. Der Ball kann nun mit unvergleich-
licher Präzision in Richtung jedes beliebigen Ziels befördert werden
seien es Pässe in den offenen Raum, kurze Abspiele in die Laufwege von
Mitspielern oder auch komplizierte Doppelpässe. Ergebnis ist eine
bessere Kontrolle über Spielzüge und das Tempo im Match als jemals zuvor.

verbesserte die 360 Grad-Kontrolle. Ergebnis ist ein bislang
unbekanntes Maß an Kontrolle über jeden einzelnen Schuss, Einwurf,

* Schuss- und Ausdauer-Anzeige: Ergänzend zum generellen Power-Balken
zeigt die Schuss- und Ausdauer-Anzeige präzise die Fitness des
jeweiligen Spielers an.
* Neue Verteidiger-KI: Die Verteidiger behalten ihre Position, so wie
es für die Spielsituation sinnvoll ist - sie agieren clever im freien
Raum und verwickeln gegebenenfalls die Angreifer in Zweikämpfe,
um deren Fehler zu erzwingen.
* Animationen: PES Productions überarbeitete sämtliche Animations-
Elemente im Spiel, beginnend mit dem Anpfiff über absolut flüssige,
natürliche Bewegungen beim Antritt bis hin zu realistischen
Ermüdungserscheinungen.
* Spielgeschwindigkeit: Mit dem neuen Grad an Spielkontrolle geht auch
ein neues Maß an Spielgeschwindigkeit einher, welche von der
jeweiligen Situation abhängt.
* Realismus: In PES 2010 war die Ähnlichkeit der virtuellen Spieler
mit ihren realen Vorbildern auf dem höchsten, jemals realisierten
Niveau. PES 2011 legt die Latte nun noch hoeher

Fifa 11 has a too small field of play...u know, in soccer u play in 22 more referees and it seems to play 5 players soccer...

I'm more interested in the Become a Legend mode in PES 2011. Fifa's Be a Pro mode is so shallow and uninspired.

Partially true, but it depends on which camera do you use: with the default "tele" the proportions are exact, while the dynamic cam tend to mess up the perspective of the field  . |
