No, it's not patched yet and there's no word on whether it's even possible just yet. So I would advise either patience, or a lot of spare cash lying around, because if you update now - your only option may well end up being that you have to buy another PS3 for playing "free" games Razz

I just had a chat with the PSJB people on MSN. They say that they have an update coming that will work with the latest firmwares. They wouldn't go into any detail as they say they want to stay one step ahead of the clones.

of course,it's not recommend to update now and take the risk.

Yes, I have. I used it on Uncharted 2 and saved a few GB. I also used it on GOW3 and stripped out over 6GB of foreign language tracks.

Ah, excellent. Wasn't sure how well it worked and if it might strip the wrong file and cause crashes.

I was playing Uncharted 2, it switched off with 3 beeps. Now when I try to switch it on it starts to boot up, the fans spin and then it switches off again with a blinking red light.

Gutted Sad

My Dualshock 3 died yesterday. I read that Sony said they'll replace controllers with faulty batteries so I called Sony and they told me they won't do shit. So I'm not able to buy a replacement battery officially, they wont replace it or even offer to repair it, and I've only had the pad for 1 or 1.5 years.

Put in a complaint saying it's not good enough and I expect a controller to last longer, supervisor calls me back and says that once it leaves their warehouse, they offer no support at all and all warranty is with the retailer. He said he finds their manufacturing quality to be fine, but won't do anything when their quality drops and produces a shitty item.

So in the end, he refused to do anything, told him I'll be seeking advice on consumer rights and will escalate it higher than himself ahd will look into talking to the media about their shoddy customer support.

FFXIII's 4gig + file is a video file, so you would need to re-encode it

That's same problem with my FAT 80 gig PS3 but i try like 5 times and it comes on eventually <---- YES everyday. Insert a blu ray disc in, make sure u don't have any controller connected and try swicthing it on and press eject like you are entering the debug mode the cd pops out and viola it boots.

U might want to lie the console down not in tower position.

Works for me till i get a slim next month. Rolling Eyes

simple to re-encode a m2v file, the bit rates are usually so high you wont notice much diff on anything under 50" anyway

@RMFX

i got one i'm about to attempt to repair that's doing the exact same thing. you turn it on and after a second or two the light goes yellow, there's some beeping and then the light turns red and blinks multiple times before shutting itself off.

i've read and was told it's hard drive related but i took the hard drive out of *my* ps3 that works and put it in this broken one and it does the same shit. when/if i get time today to read up on it some more if i find anything useful i'll let you know.
