After a few hours spent with fifa I decided to fire up PES.
I did already try the demo but despite this, the impact caught me unprepared.
The animations are absolutely horrible, blocky, unjointed and totally unrealistic, not to mention the behaviour of the GKs, who seem to suffer from a clear mental illness that causes them the inhibition of their reflexes.
And it's a shame, since the game can actually be fun. Graphically wise is solid (except for the ridiculously low LOD, which will hopefully be fixed by Juce), the behaviour of AI is good, the shooting mechanics are decent and the physics of the ball are rather plausible. But as I said, the whole animations system is completely, utterly unacceptable for a 2010 game, representing a big no thanks for me.
The situation can change only if KONAMI decides to rewrite the game from scratch, using whole new engine, but my sensation is that it won't happen until the new generation of consoles will be out.

@ixigia Yep  I experienced the same after playing the demo of FIFA and trying to go back to PES... It's quite bad.

Since you aren't able to make decisions for yourself, I recommend to wait until it is known which game sold more copies. I guess you don't want to admit to your scenester/hipster friends that you bought a copy of fifa10 and it's totally uncool.

what you talking about ? the keepers have been amazing for me. And i'm in Eredevisie.
Maybe even too good, as the 2 penalties that I've seen so far were almost right next to the post and keepers still saved them... |
I've played three matches and 4 of the 5 goals that I scored came from either a bad clear from the GK or a terrible coming out o_O
Maybe I've been simply terribly unlucky  
Tonight I'll play some more matches, trying to clarify this aspect. |

lol playing against the CPU . it's boooring.haven't done this since 2002 .
played 2 matches against my brother. 15 minutes in the game and i 've done and seen some stuff that fifa only dreams about .
the game is excellent. the players have weight to them and you can actually feel them ..the passing is great .the shooting also.the design of the field..how the players look .. the colour pallete which is not too colourful is good.
all in all it exceeded my expectations.
one major gripe i have with this game is the way the penalty are shot. i mean... i can't even know where the ball is going. the camera should have stayed in the back of the player and that's it.

Played both demos and for me it's obcious that PES is better. Fifa is too arcadey while PES is much more of a simulator. It's harder to master but it's still friendly for begginers. The game itself is more rewarding and demanding, it has better AI and physics. So what if Fifa is superior in animations it's the only thing that I noticed is good about it, even the performance is crap. Call me a fanboy but it's really what it looks like.
