If you are playing with combos then yes, game requires quick reflexes and you can't play through it by button mashing. But I am not very good at games like this, in fact I needed to switch to easy difficulty on some fights. But since I will play through game again anyway on normal it doesn't bother me Smile

Normal is generally harder than most games. Remember however that you can change difficulty at any time from you journal, in fact I was playing on normal but switched to hard (yeah, I like punishment Laughing ) but you can switch whenever you want. Hard difficulty is challenging but nothing "impossible" like hard mode in ninja gaiden or "dante must die" mode in dmc.

Playtime?

I don't know, there's no stats, but I guess 20 hours is just about right... been playing for most of the weekend with some breaks and one SC2 session Smile I wasn't rushing though and I don't even have 100% completion on most missions yet.

btw. there's achievement to get 110% completion on all missions, anyone figured out how?

110%? It should be 200,6%. Razz

edit: Finally a castle in sight! Smile

Hun!

If you have an flashed 360, don't freaking wait!
The game is GOTY material!

Long gameplay, epic boss battles, from huge, to normal, combat is fluent but hard, platforming makes sense, yeah it's no classic Castlevania, but who freaking cares?

It followes the belmont storyline and the climax @ the end is like WTF?!?!?!

Esp before the Real ending, when everything is explained and you fight the last boss, you are like.. noo.. nooo way!

And i'm not talking about the one obvious thing Smile

Thanks Asmoday! Smile I know, I know, I don't have any verbs and I am a little addicted to trophy hunting now on my PS3. I am finding I enjoy the games more on the PS3. I like the controller better. What a great month though with Castlevania, Vanquish and Rock Band 3. A great gaming October in deed!

Play the demo, I loved it and the boss was incredible. I have played the demo 6 times. It reminded me of Gears of War. The graphics, sound and control were very good. I am shocked that this is a SEGA title.

You guys should play the second vanquish demo (available on JP marketplace), which is challenge mode (wave's of different enemies like gears 2 horde mode) - miles better than previous one and freaking hard. Very Happy

From the Bayonetta developers, Platinum Games + RE creator Shinji Mikami, so big game without doubt.

Yeah, you are correct, that was mistake on my part. Bayonetta was a great game as well. I didn't know they did this game. I knew Vanquish was using the Bayonetta engine though. I will give the 2nd demo a shot for sure. JP Marketplace is that the X360 marketplace? Is it available on PSN?

I'm tempted to buy it as well, mayb even CE, as I want that soundtrack. I loved this game as well. In fact for me this is the best game I played on 360 so far (and I tried lot of games already).

Btw. is there some software where I can explore contents of 360 iso? I would like to extract music if it's possible.

So when looking through some files I exported from 360 version it looks like there may be PC version in future. For example in Data00 archive there's a language file and well...see attached screenshot:

What do you think? I'd LOVE to see it on PC, even with 360 controller. Higher resolution and possibly even better textures/antialiasing Smile
