Been a while since i played it - but the crack worked - so my only suggestion is to make sure the desktop icon links to the cracked exe.

And that somewhere is the NFO file. You most likely are using a crack with a different version number from your actual game, or just copy and pasted wrong. Either way, the NFO would tell you.
