ok a while back i was making a joke about how most of the characters were unique, interesting and, well, generally really quite cool
but jacob is so utterly bland and generic, hes the least memorable character in the ENTIRE game, let alone in your squad.
hence 'i dont remember no freakin black dude'...

- interactive Mass Effect 1 comic by Dark Horse, that will retell the ME1 story and allow the gamer to make choices
- all DLCs released so far
- new DLC mission that will last 6 hours!
Hopefully that new DLC mission willl be released on PC/360 too.

I still think it's a pretty shitty move to not give PS3 owners the first game. Instead they get an "interactive, choice-making, comic!" That's messed up.

Think about what you know about console gamers in 2010... i dont know how good of a sell me1 will be on the ps3 given its dated graphics and its higher difficulty over me2 in all its simplified leveling and cover-based glory...
we've come a long way from the console gamers of 07.. theyre getting shallower and lazier every year.
microsoft want to hook ps3 gamers... me2 is the best game to do it... thats the main reason i guess theyre only doing me2.
besides... fuck ps3 owners... not like sony is willing to give up THEIR exclusives... they should be thrilled theyre getting me at all. i bet sony fought tooth and nail to keep final fantasy... atleast theyre getting me2 AND something by way filling in the backstory and allowing for game decisions to be made and brought into me2...

Microsoft doesn't own the rights to me2 (if that's what you implied, I'm not sure)
EA does.

As far as I know, publishing was split. EA has the publishing rights for the PC, Microsoft for the 360. Although, at first the game was 360-exclusive so MS put a lot of money into it. EA cannot make a lone decision to publish it now on the PS3.
It's the same thing Sony does all the time, most popular with various GTA or Metal Gear games and increasingly with PS3-exclusive DLC like Arkham Asylum's, Mafia 2, the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and others.

I thought you were talking about the second one. MS indeed seems to own some rights forthe first game.

It's not a problem of rights. The rights to the franchise belonged to BioWare and now that BioWare is owned by EA, EA has the rights: http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=17827

well then im not following.. why wouldnt Microsoft protect that investment by ensuring exclusivity for the franchise?
and like i said... why on earth wouldnt EA release ME2 on ps3 right at the start if they were free to do whatever they wanted with the franchise after me1? most console games that are available on both platforms usually get a simultaneous release afterall...

Well.. why doesn't Sony pay to get MGS:Rising (or the whole MGS franchise for that matter) exclusively on PS3 (& future PS consoles)?
