I just read 10 pages and I will ask again what I asked 4 pages ago (the only real information this thread should have):
Most of you mentioned single player is pure crap and you need friends in coop to appreciate the game. Is there any way to play online using any software with the trivium or skidrow release?

If you liked LP1 or even finished the campaign in it then LP2 is passable. It has no real plot to speak of but still is decent enough for one playthrough...
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Online play ? i assume this is using the new Live keys i.e Dead Rising 2, Dirt 2 e.t.c so the old Club keys are useless ?

you know a good idea, when info is posted about club keys and single player and mp and so forth that keep getting answered over and over, if the OP edited the first post to incorporate more info regarding such, then one would only have to all the time look at that first post.
Ja?
p.s no op no more, mods can have something to do other than ban lunatics

This game is not worth 1€.
Then they talk that piracy is killing the gaming industry, and they spew this kind of c*** to the market. The gaming industry is killing itself; greed, lack of original ideas and lazines is the reason.

Yes, LP2 was poorly received: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/lost-planet-2 and it sold bad, I think it hasn't reached the 1M of (combined PS360) sales yet, or we would have heard of it..
But Inafune himself agrees it wasn't good, and blames Takeuchi, LP2's producer (though without actually saying his name): http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=267671
"I came up with the concept for the original Lost Planet and got involved quite a bit, however, regrettably, Lost Planet 2 was done by someone else and I didn't really have any direct involvement. I still believe in the franchise, and if we do more with it I will definitely get involved directly. If a particular franchise or IP is continued by the creator, there is no problem. But in a large organisation that's not possible all the time. Therefore if you have to change the director or producer, etc, they would have to love the IP or franchise, including good points and bad points, as a whole. Without love, nothing happens."
As noted on the article, and as I posted before on another thread, Inafune believes Japan in whole is making terrible games and he wants to study how western companies make them "better", at least in his opinion (read between the lines: he wants Japan/Capcom to make the next Halo, Call of Duty or Gears of War).
Is Takeuchi to blame for LP2's shortcomings? I believe that yes, he's largely responsible. He was the producer of RE5 too, and RE5 was a mere HD copy-paste of RE4, doing close to nothing to advance the series gameplay; it didn't introduce any noteworthy gameplay elements, despite being developed for hardware that's far more powerful than the hardware that RE4 was designed for, which would normally allow the title's designers to do a lot more than before.
His only idea on how to evolve the RE and LP franchises was to force co-op in both of them, with crappy AI partners when the player isn't online.
Thankfully he has already stated that he won't produce RE6, and it certianly doesn't look like Inafune will let him touch the LP franchise ever again.

the rest is better but no big changes, alot of potencial here and yet with no right use, so the overall expirience is too empty i guess while it could be very cool game with all the big bugs and atmospher around.

JBeckman wrote: | SSA or server-side-authentication is used so each key is specific for the game or to put it that way normal LIVE keys won't work as with other titles so it won't work unfortunately, offline profile is the only method for now.
(And cracked launcher, this does not interfere with LIVE as the DX9 and DX11 LIVE exe files are unaltered.) |
since this game is so dependent on coop and I would like to play multiplayer, it hurts that it doesnt work.

Funny, Kotaku now reports that Inafune hates his job, and he works hard because he wants to retire as early as possible.
http://kotaku.com/5661596/dead-rising-producer-hates-his-job-he-wants-to-retire
Maybe it has something to do with his comment that Japanese companies make shitty games, and he's getting irritated at how much behind the West Japanese devs are.

I don't know if this is true, and that's a nice bit of trivia info, but no one really gives a shit where SKIDROW got their crack, as long as it works.
If we are to go by scene rules and blame them for stealing a P2P crack.. well 99.9% of the members of this forum I suppose do not have access to the scene, and they shouldn't be able to get on their hands the SKIDROW scene release in the first place.
So download the crack of your choice, play, and enjoy. Let the people inside the scene, worry about it.
