I don't like this game, I can't even describe fully why I don't like it. I don't care whether it's Gothic or not, it's made by a different studio, but it pisses me off they created a simple action RPG. Yes, it really is simple. I don't like the term "dumbing down" since it's abused mostly in a wrong context, but this game certainly deserves that label. As for performance, it really is bad. I thought I'd get used to the stutters since I've played badly optimized RPGs before, but the more I play the more I get irritated by it. This either means the stutters get worse, or it means the game is just not interesting enough to not notice teh bad performance. I think it's the latter. I might even say Nehrim, the Oblivion mod, is better than this game.
I'd like to add that I have no problem with simplified games, I can have as much fun with a simple game as with a very complex RPG. Some aspects of this game though are clearly made for the younger crowd. This does not seem to be a game that pulls you in, it's rather a 'play and forget' game.

WTF the demo files trick seems to work? 
FPS is similar to the demo, lower when compared to the original exe but the stuttering seems to be gone.

The tears are found towards the end of the main quest.
(Not really a spoiler, used for forging for a few different equipment items.)

some treez are missing, complete castle is missing, sun is missing... don't think it's playable

So, not sure I'll continue playing, but just in case I do...is there a point in specialization? I've reached the third level, and didn't invest single point yet. Is it possible to invest in range combat only? So far it looked really underpowered compared to melee.
i7 6700k @ 4.4 GHZ, 2060s, 16 GB RAM, SSD, Windows 10x64.

You'll never get hit using ranged by just holding S against 90% of enemies.

I have the ranged skill tree maxed out but can't say it is easy to kill mobs, need to change to melee weapon mostly to finish them off. Kiting with S I did not try yet. Seems melee and spell casting works better. But I really do like the bow and crossbow action. Bolts are rare though in the game.

Too bad, I really have wanted to make pure ranger char. I will wait for next patch&crack, maybe they will fix something. Or i will rather wait 2 years for 1.98 community patch ;P
