No this isn't a "finger pointing" thread, it's actually a legitimate question. From what I've seen, there's been a number of members that were banned and then came back under a new name, yet they've been allowed to stay. I'm wondering why that is? If they're allowed to come back, surely it would be easier for everyone involved - as well as keeping the database clean - if they were just allowed to use their old account/name instead?
It strikes me as a bit wasteful to have to sign up with a new name and start all over after being banned. Why not just let them keep their regular account?

Just to be absolutely CRYSTAL clear on this: I am not pointing out that those on new accounts should be banned again. FAR from it. I'm actually advocating the return of their standard accounts if they're allowed to stay <3

The perm ban in the first place was to stop a bad behavior no? So if they are behaving well under a new name, I don't see what the problem is.
Then again, I am biased.

The problem is that since a lot of people are using dynamic ip's or vpn's perm banning is kinda hard, and if we keep banning them they usually throw a hissy fit and it all becomes a mess that takes too much time sorting out, so just generally behave and you won't lose your account.

I don't know about your accounts, but if what you say is true, then why have you not contacted Rinze to unban the other account? Just send him a PM. |

but if you've got a perm ban....imo you shouldnt be allowed to make a new account. It's not as if a new account turns you into a totally new person.
However, I'm pretty sure that there are people who have been wrongfully perm-banned.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
