Just had a few more games and they were so much fun! Met one prick using ESP, but he was the only one and he sucked any way .. the rest of the players, and the games, were brill. GREAT fun, just like MW2 was at its height. I hope AlterIWNet grows in popularity, so we can have this and Black Ops together ^_^

Black Ops using BBC2 protection method from cracking private MP servers... not sure if AlterIWNet for black ops will be possible....

So dedicated servers are out and, surprise surprise, I seem to be the only one who can't even play any more. Nothing works, not dedicated servers OR connecting via match-making. It puts me in a lobby, I wait a few seconds, it slams me into a game - shows the loading screen - and just hangs. Music playing but nothing happening.
Fucking YAY.

You'll need all that (or you can convert/copy your existing Steam/Skidrow install at a space premium just by following the linked guide). It's really easy to set it up, once you've got the files. I chose to download the 6GB (+1GB DLC pack) client rather than piss around trying to rip my own.

Why bother using something 3rd party for black ops when it will have dedicated server support and a browser to boot.

Devs are also working on friends lists too, so we'll be able to have some kind of invite/join functionality for our buds. Still, for now, we can just link everyone to the dedi list and join that way ^_^ Why Activision couldn't have just allowed this from the start, I'll honestly never understand. They RUINED what is essentially an excellent game - and for what purpose? :\

I had GREAT fun. Really, it was like having MW2 back to normal again and there was definitely no animosity amongst the players, nobody raging or screaming and calling hax - just good games.

Sausje, pretty sure a guy named xStevooo is cheating. Every match I've been in he's had a K/D of atleast 10.

Get an ingame vid man, i cant just ban people because someone said so
They would just appeal and get unbanned unless there is videoproof

yeah better get some good killcam records, think it was atleast 3 killcams you needed.
tho high K/D doesn't mean they are cheating.
unless they just happen to follow you through walls or have a sixth sense that you are behind them.

Aye, amongst other posts yeah. Nice to see they're interested in it, which is good for people - like yourself and Leo - in countries where they're (GameServers) not hosting a direct dedicated server.

so if a friend of mine got his own dedicated server to work and running, is there an option in alterIWnet for me to join his server or does it only work when it is shown in the dedicated server list site wich sabin posted?
i mean some command to join my friend his server?
