Of course I did! ^_^

It's not a true CFW, it's basically an xreg edit of a firmware COPY that you launch from USB. You dump you firmware, edit key files, then rather than trying to flash that back to internal NAND (and breaking your PS3 Razz) you can load it as an "emulated" NAND, just like the Wii. You load the firmware and it acts like a temporary CFW, with a whole host of new options. It really is pretty much a debug setup and some of the options are VERY interesting to me, like being able to unlock games.

I'm going to wait for some feedback from others before I try it, though the chances are that if this CAN be used to play/unlock PSN games, you won't read that on PSX-Scene - since they try to curb all talk of piracy.

I'm going to check to make sure the "FULL" downloads from ps3news debug archive work on JB .. if they do; I'll upload those next. Be back soon.

-edit-

Nope. The ONLY one labeled "Full" that works is "Everyday Shooter" -- the rest are TRIALS ONLY! Not a single one of them is unlocked and/or full.

FTP'ing is still shit on the PS3. When you do get a connection, you're not even guaranteed that the file will even cross.

Trying to copy the Braid folder with Filezilla and the Blackbox 1.1 app and the transfer just times out. It shows the dir fine, but wont actually copy the folder. Tried with passive on and off.

Edit: Using FlashFXP worked, but that's in a trial mode so I'll have to find a way around that. Any good free FTP apps?

Just get a crack for it. IMO FlashFXP is the best FTP client out there - with one drawback; no support for multiple connections Crying or Very sad However! There is now a 1.2 version of Blackb0x FTP with specific fixes for Filezilla ^_^

I'm ftp'ing things to myps3 from my linux server over ssh, using ncftp.
It works like a charm , never got an error.
using filezilla from my macbook, i got a few freezes of the ps3.

Never tried ncftp desktop clients, but maybe it'll work as fine as the command line version.

I've heard of that, but like it states; you need the debug updates and those are a little hard to come by Wink

Yup, there's quite a few coming out that seem to work fine - either single .PKG installs or a previously activated install via a gamedata folder + install PKG. I've got a couple of games for upload too, once someone figures out how to rip them yourself Very Happy

Guess I'm not the only one then, lol. As far as I'm able to work out, it's a platform game where you collect puzzle pieces to finish a jigsaw puzzle.. while using time-rewind mechanics in order to survive death. Heh.

The only games like Shadow Complex would be either Blade Kitten (PSN/XBLA/PC) or any of the original Metroidvania titles, ESPECIALLY Symphony of the Night.

I'm exactly the same in RL too, yep. What I'm like on here is what I'm like in life (probably a TAD less angry in life, it's easier to vent when you're just typing. If I raged in life like I do online I'd probably be institutionalised Very Happy)

Hey, no probs! I'm always glad to help if I can ^_^

I recently found out about a few methods for PSN game install/activation, so I'm running through them now. It's a PITA but if I understand the logic correctly, they SHOULD hopefully work.

-edit-

Age of Booty: Not working. Requires PSN to reauthenticate.
Bionic Commando ReArmed: Not working. Locked as demo even with debug update.
Burn Zombie Burn: Not working. Requires PSN to reauthenticate. Debug patch fails to detect installed game (region?)
Call of Duty Classic: Not working. Requires PSN to reauthenticate.
Lemmings: Not working. Requires PSN to reauthenticate.
Zombie Apocalypse: Not working. Locked as demo even with debug update.

Sigh. Sorry guys. I didn't really think they were going to work anyhow.. anything I can think of trying, you can bet a few hundred others already HAVE. If they could have gotten them working, we'd have heard about it by now.

BLEH! Razz

Anyhoo, got Hermes V4b loaded on my chip. I wanted to load Gaia rc9, but the bloody thumb drive isn't being recognised on the PS3. Any other way to install Gaia without the need for an external drive? Can I FTP it?

Not as far as I know. I think "Install_Packages" is hard coded to read from USB.
