This is an OVA (original video animation) follow up of the two series Black lagoon and Black Lagoon: 2nd Barrage. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece but is nice action packed anime, kinda refreshing if teenagers in mechs or highs school drama annoys you as much as me.

Taken from wikipedia:
Quote:
The story follows a team of pirates/mercenaries known as Lagoon Company, that smuggles goods in and around the seas of Southeast Asia in the early 1990s. Their base of operations is located in the fictional city of Roanapur in Thailand, and they transport goods in the 80-foot (24 m) Elco-type PT boat Black Lagoon. When on land, they move around and conduct business using Benny's 1968 Plymouth Road Runner, although in episode 24 he's seen driving a 1965 Pontiac GTO after his Roadrunner is blown up in episode 17. Lagoon Company does business with various clients, but has a particularly friendly relationship with the Russian crime syndicate Hotel Moscow. The team takes on a variety of missions—which may involve violent firefights, hand-to-hand combat, and nautical battles—in various Southeast Asian locations and when not doing much, the members of the Lagoon Company spend much of their down time at The Yellow Flag, a bar in Roanapur which is often destroyed in firefights.

eh. first eps been out for ages, second... i dunno... first ep was pretty blah, so i never bothered looking for the second when i heard it was out.

its like a poor-mans bebop, really... cept replace bountyhunting with transporting.

the stories were pretty crap, the ONLY thing i guess i liked was revy was a pretty cool character, and the english dub was hilariously over the top. if it wasnt for that, id have skipped it alltogether.

Gungrave, hard to remember this one I rated it with a 6, so mediocre in my eyes.
Other series about mercenaries/outlaws: Noir, Trigun, Outlaw Star

Gungrave is really good, at least the first part of the anime that covers the flashbacks. After that it goes downhill imo.
