I wonder what excuse would they come up with if you asked them why no PC demo? Very Happy

My body seems to not tolerate pure arcade racing games anymore..

Hoping that it won't contain "revolutionary" high-speed uber-arcade takedowns and Hollywoodian getaways with helicopters Laughing

Got to play 10 minutes at Eurogamer Expo a couple weeks ago, it felt very Burnout, which is not a bad thing. Fans of Burnout 3, which I would call the pinnacle of console racing games, will be happy to see tracks, or routes rather then open world. This could be a new high for Criterion.

To be fair, everyone in the world was begging for NFS to return back to it's *roots*

Roots being driving exotic cars on long open roads with the cops chasing after you.

The car handling is not like Burnout, the cars here feel like they have more weight and there is some on-rails drifting like in Ridge Racer.

But the look of the game is totally Burnout which I prefer over the wigger-style that NfS took since Underground.

Underground was probably one of my favorites right next to Most Wanted.

Customization in that game was so badass.

Burnout =! NFS roots. And I'm talking about the mechanical elements of the cars, controls, handling etc.. The NFS-series always managed to get a good mix between reality and arcade where Burnout was pure unrealistic arcade resulting in crappy handling and feeling. IMHO obviously. I hated burnout and the other arcade racers but have always enjoyed NFS for having very balanced handling and racing mechanics.

NFS is dead to me.

"Roots" Rolling Eyes Since when are NFS roots driving boats in completely unrealistic physics and drifting like a dumbass to boost your nitro? Maybe "Retardedground roots" but definitely not NFS roots. Embarassed

HAY!

All I said was is that it resembles the old NFS's ONLY because of the long roads and getting chased by the cops. I never said anything about how the cars handle or anything. KTHX.

They handle like a compass.
The car's body is turning in weird ways but the handling feels awkward as if it's disconnected from the car.

"Driving" a "thing" and looking at a pretty box twitching around the screen. I'm not impressed at all.

You won't need a wheel, this games features on-rails drifting, somewhat like that:

NFs from it´s early roots has always been an arcade racer, so if handling feels like burnout paradise i´m in for some chases

Burnout crap didn't even get close to the handling in the FIRST NFS: Hot Pursuit from 1998. Then take Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed and you'll see what I mean when I say that Burnout handling is on-rails fake compared to NFS: PU that is 10 years old.

Except that NFS:U was 5th installment of NFS franchise and therefore it can be argued if it can be called roots of the series. Don't take me wrong, NFS:PU was quite good, but for me it was nowhere as fun to play as NFS2,3 or 4.

In NFS:PU I liked tracks and environments most, but driving model was slightly more simulator than an arcade racer.

If NFS:HP 2010 will be anything similar to this ; or this or I will be happy.

sorry but i think some ppl really need to replay old games again, handling and physics is a complete crap in those videos u posted, hitting a bus on the fly and maintain your speed
the fact that it feels like u operating a hovercraft alone should be enough Laughing
