Found at the beginning somehow a quest from a guy to help her wife, but also was tricky because no girl found, only he wanted to help him to deal with some creatures Smile and tried to kill me after Smile

In fact if I remember correctly in the first 30 min of the game, or something like this, when you meet the girl with the dog (i forgot the name) wanted to bring her some flowers ...for that quest I've had a mark on map, but that was before applied updates / fix and other things Very Happy

anyway I will play more ...and I will post here if anything is not going well. The main quest is to go to Primm but I want to find other quests until then Razz

Pre-war money: junk you can sell, influenced by your barter skill
NCR bills / legion coins: actual in-game currency, that have a fixed exchange rate. I think its 0.8 for the NCR money, so 100 NCR$ will give you 40 caps no matter where you are trading it. As for the legion coins, the one type i have seen so far has an exchange rate of 1:4, so every coin is worth 4 caps. There is a more valuable coin type, that i think is worth 5 times as much, but i havent come across it yet. (only about halfway in the game)
Chips: used in casinos for gambling, exchange rate is 1:1. Not sure if you can use those at vendors, never really tried Razz

At most vendors, you can exchange goods for caps and sell your NCR/Legion currency at the fixed exchange rates mentioned above. Sometimes the vendors might have some of that currency themselves to begin with, but you might only see that around faction areas really, elsewhere its rare. In the casinos, you can buy chips for any of the three currencies, although NCR bills are a little inferior here, as you have to turn each bill into chips separately through dialog.. kinda annoying really, when you have 80 pieces of 5 NCR$ bills, and have to turn those into 2 chips each one by one. Caps and Legion money uses the usual quantity slider to specify how much you wanna convert.

You can also request to have your chips paid in any of the three currencies, so once you hit vegas, you can exchange between the three currencies as much as you want.

I tend to stockpile NCR/legion money and only sell it when the vendor im talking to has plenty of surplus caps and i have nothing else to sell. Reason? Money has no weight, so its better to hold on to it, than say bent tin cans, that weight 1 units each.

This however is only an issue if you are obsessed with collecting and selling every piece of junk AND you are playing hardcore mode, where waiting for a vendor to restock its supplies (and as such, its money allowance) is not an option.

Other than that, vendors restock themselves (incl. their money) every 72 ingame hours and since the default timescale is 30 (meaning 1 hour of actual game time equals 30 hours of ingame time), it is entirerily possible, that a vendor will have a new stock by the time you visit it after an extended session of scavengi.. prospecting.

Personally, i play with a timescale of 5, meaning that 72 hours in game are more than 14 hours real time.. so i kind have to use the wait/sleep functions to let that amount of time pass. Now in hardcore mode, with the needs enabled it is just not worth sitting on my bum for 3 days, when i can be out there looking for the guy that tried to off me.

There are also "Free quests" that don't appear in your pipboy "Quests" section. Usually you only get a note in Misc, like with

Since I started a new game, hit level 20 again, killed the first Ranger on sight and got angry about that the armor masks you as NCR "again...
I looked around the nexus a bit and found this unmasked and retextured beauty.



Me and Boon with the Standard Ranger Armor. Since masking doesn't affect your companions, it's fine he wearing it.

Yep, I don't get any conversation with Raul after speaking with Andy too. I think it's because we have spoken with him way earlier and the certain dialogue options aren't available any more.

There should be a console command to finish the quest, right? Or at least to initiate the last piece of dialogue? Apparently there's a choice between even slower weapon degradation (he then wears a special mechanic's suit), or the vaquero outfit, which increases his ROF with gunslinger weapons.

Is it possible to get ALL implants at the clinic? I already bought strength, endurance, agility, regeneration and armor - and now I wanted to buy charisma and the doctor says, I need more endurance to get more implants (perception, charisma and luck are missing and I wanted to buy them, too)

Does anybody know how much endurance is needed? one additional point per implant or more? then I will wait for the next levelup and spend one perk point for a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. upgrade. otherwise I have to skip it.... Crying or Very sad

It's the Ranger Combat Armour. You can get it off some rangers after a certain point in the game.

They appear above level 17 at most ranger camps or at least they should, never seen any of them actually.
(Instead I use the looted power armor I stole from the dam area and the ranger medium armor from some random ranger, legion troopers were hard to acquire as well but found decent Centurion armor from a camp, was looking forward to Caesars armor but it proved rather useless so instead I'm looking for the legate now but he seems impossible to find at this point in the game and by default the armor can't be used by the player but I've fixed that already.)

(Legion assassins are apparently very interesting as well but never really managed to piss of the legion that much before Caesar had a accident so I'll never see it, Vulpa Innacula or what his name was also disappeared so I can't get that either, heh.)

Like I said. The right one is the standard one which is originally in the game. But if you wearing it (You have to kill NCR Veteran Rangers to get it) it disguises you as an NCR member. Which is a shame because the armor is awesome.

The left one is the retextured and unmasked one (which doesn't disguise you as an NCR member, yay!) and can be downloaded here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35176

You'll find it in Nipton's Store on the 1st floor in a Suitcase.

This is odd, apparently he has a special shack north of Vault 34 where he can repair your stuff, but now that I'm there when talking to him he still says "take me to my shack if you want repairs".

EDIT: Never mind, had to tell him to go home for a while.

It fires only 20 bullets than stops, spins up and fires another 20 bullets and so on.

just try to play as you feel, I think it's the point. For example, at first I was buddy with NCR and killed every Legion guy I met, but after that I needd ammo and $$$, so have salvaged some NCR soldiers, it has lowered my reputation, but WTF.

Nope, can empty the bullet case in one go just fine.

9 END required to get them all - starting with 8 and getting the END implant first doesn't work.

Gives the error Missing or Invalid Registry/INI entry. Already made "Installed Path" in HKLM\Software\Bethesda Softworks\FalloutNV and HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\FalloutNV

Technically one could say that Fallout: New Vegas uses Geck 2.0, 1.0 was the first release for Fallout 3 and then it was updated to 1.5 to support the DLC and later patch functionality though it won't work with the updated data in Vegas which now uses it's own GECK program. Smile

Ahhhh! Ok. Yeah, I went back looking for the lady to get some of her stew made and those guys were in the casino. I convinced them to leave without having to fight. I'll have to go back and see if they're open yet.

Needs to be repaired, maybe? Similar thing happens to me when using the 10mm SMG (or any other weapon, really) when it's condition gets too low. Fires a few rounds, stops, smacks it or something, and starts firing again.
