It is out in Sweden and some american stores are (AFAIK) putting their copies onto their shelves today.

It's not out in sweden, believe me I've checked, but webhallen.com DID ship pre-ordered copies WAY to early because of the f'ing 5 day easter weekend, some lucky wankers got the game last thursday.
The stores themselves won't sell the game over counter until the 31'st :/

Lol don't count on it :/.
Seems like companies like bringing out patches afterwards because they don't have to delay the release date, which doesn't bother me as long as the patch actually fixes the problems and is released around the release date of the game.

SC:CT is done by UBIsoft montreal, so it should be safedisc or securom

If the patch has a updated exe I can check if it is safedisc or starforce. However, the exe is stored in a .RTP file which the installer extracts to the C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp\bye44E.tmp\Disk1\Patch directory. Anyone have any software that can extract a .RTP file?

look at the reviews, the ps2 version is not as good as the pc.version, if you want the full gaming experience you should definately get the pc-version.

MTW wrote: | However, the exe is stored in a .RTP file | Pocket Software writes auto-patching software like that, it's a common extension however, if you dig around inside the RTP file you should find out what company wrote it, they usually leave the company tags when it's compiled. Finding the program to extract an RTP can be more difficult.

from the patch readme:
2. Activation
================================================================================
The game DVD contains a protection system that needs to be activated in order to
be able to play. The key is located on the inside cover of the DVD box. It has
the form XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.
I think this means that it only has a normal cd key protection, because it says nothin about a key on your cd.

You can't extract from a RTP file really. The way RTPatch works is basically like a 'diff' for binaries--they compare the contents of patched and unpatched directories, and then compile the changes into a RTP file. It doesn't store complete files unless the files didn't exist previously, just the parts of each file which are different between the two versions.
http://www.pocketsoft.com/whitepapers/whitepaper.html if you're really curious about how the program works.

Isn't that the game that doesn't even have PS2 support = looks like crap on all new ATi hardware? *yaaaaaaaawn*

The demo ran perfectly fine at 1280*1024 everything maxed with my x800 pro VIVO. I seriously doubt you'll notice any difference between the nvidias and the ATIs in this game, since it's not really that FPS dependant like other shooter games like HL2 etc.
