so i got that right, even if i downloaded the .pkg update files, installed the game to my internal hdd and then tried to install the .pkg, it'd still require a hermes v4b device to make them work?
i tried installing the pes 2011 patch with my 1.0 ps3break but it gave me that error message (8xxxxxx)

You need the updated hex to install the patch etc.. the default one wont let you install retail patch's in "debug" mode.
Dunno if you can use the PSN installer to copy it over, boot in normal mode and then install it that way (like you could PSN demo's before it was patched to allow it in "debug")

So, the latest PS3 games requiring 3.42+ FW now work on this?

Check for the latest software for your device, I've had 3D Dot running for a while now, no problems (using a Minimus key). |
Just tried the new hermes v4 for the ipod and 3d dot game heroes is still a no go. Well assuming i try enough times it will prolly boot up , but atm the screen is just black and the ps3 is unresponsive >,>

Its the same with me , and a few others as well looking about on ps3news and stuff
You've had it boot once at least  . I've had feck all luck with it

Primarily use a Maximus , I also have an old ipod 5g with rockbox installed just to mess about with ( pl3 on it )
Hasn't worked with either , Normally try it when I use a new build but as off yet no luck on any front .
FTP'ed it over 3 times , with mozilla and eventually smartftp . Every other game works though and It's something I would never play so kinda gave up on it

Gaia the now , not ran into problems recently so haven't felt the need to change , Give us a minute I'll try it
Just used the latest pl3 rockbox build I could find , Hung again with gaia after the developers splash screens , Will try open manager next . Tried discless there . No where at all
Hung again with om :/

Yeah maybe, haven't tried it that far yet. There's another way though, so i'm gonna try that one too later on. That 9gb file is just a movie file. So you can rename it to .avi, downsample it, rename it back to .cpk and it supposedly works.

Sorry for being a pain in the ass but i'll be receiving enough money to put aside to buy a PS3 now. I'm wondering abit about the stuff needed to jailbreak and play games. Is there any good guide out? which USB jailbreak stick should I get? I do have an ipod touch (heard something about it being able to be used etc).
Is there anyway to make sure when buying the PS3 that I get one with firmware 3.41 or lower?
Would really appreciate some info, thanks guys.

the only way to be sure that u have 3.41 or lower is look in sys nfo, it's not hw related so there is no way to tell by the box

That vanquish thing i posted does work, but you end up with no movies in the game :/. Pretty much unplayable for me in that case.

Why noy use hjsplit and copy it with that program that joins the files on the fly when copying to the ps3? I forgot the name but I use it and has that option. I'll boot my PS3 later today, too busy with other games right now

Sorry i have to ask this but i dont have much time lately to mess around and keep up with all the updates. I would love to install the PSN titles that are available... which software i can best use for my ps3key. I've updated it with the original V3 software but i just see they allready released a new one again.
So basiscly after updating my ps3key to V4 what manager is best used for PSN titles. I prefer to install the games from external drive and what ive seen so far its possible to copy files to my internal with current loaders.
