problem is when installed on friends, when i click on icon to load it just doesnt do anything, crack applied n everything, even going to the setup to change settings doesnt load up,

his specs are,
AMD Athlon 1200+
768MB RAM
Geforce 5600 FX 256mb
Windows XP SP1A
Direct X 9c (note its beta but working on my own machine).

I have almost the same problem but when I go to setup or try to run the game I get the window popup with the "Debug" and "Close" Button along with this error msg:

Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

DAMNIT! First True Crime now this. Installed it and started it up and I get that error message. This sucks. Oh well. I rented it when it came out for xbox. I beat it and got the bad ending. I wanted to play it again so I can get the other endings.

I've had the newest drivers since they came out so that doesn't help me at all. Mad

Yes we put the crack on. We are getting errors when we try to start it up. Oh and I can't turn everything down cause if I click "The Suffering Setup" I also get an error.

My friend had the *.exe crash porblem with The Suffering and True crime. We managed with that problem !!
The problem is about SSE instructions on Athlons. On same motherboards they are disabled and that games need them to run. To check if you have SSE instructions enabled use WCPUID. If you have them disabled, the way we manged to enable them, was updating the BIOS. I will work ONLY with that CPUs:
AthlonXP (palimino & above)
Duron (morgan & above)
because only them have SSE support.

Yes I've tried re-installing it. I think it's a SSE problem like Rzooq said.

As i have written in my post with solution to this poblem:

AthlonXP (palimino & above)

ThunderBirds don't support SSE. On "Surreal" froum I have found info that there is a chance for a patch, so there is a chance...
If not try to google for samething like 3D Analyzer (witch emulates Vertex and Pixel Shader) but for CPUs (witch emulate this kind of instructions), maybe sameone wrote it, I dunno...

Anyway... new athlons XP aren't expensive, check if your mobo support them and maybe buy one?

That's what my friend DarthMike posted here as the solution, when we discovered that the problem is about SSE.
http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=740

After updating to that bios (he has the same mobo), WCPUID showed that SSE instructions are supported.

Yeah, but there's no crack for the patch, or is this one of those rare patches that can patch cracked exes?
