What drives do you guys have?

I'm thinking it could all have to do with older drives = no AP25 capability, so no check for Fable 3. New drives = AP25 capability, so no Fable 3 boot when the check fails.

Could it be that simple?

Well EA certainly agrees, their new console games now come with key checks. Sims 3 has a serial that you need otherwise you can't access the online parts of the game.

Just a question, my 360 has the latest drive, the one you have to rip open, cut and re-wire "frankenstein style" to make flashing possible... if I need to upgrade the firmware will I have to go through that cut & resoldering ordeal again, or since I already have a hacked firmware installed, I can update it directly?

Not sure but I think you only need to do that in order to get the key, so you can flash the drive, so you I don't think you need to go through all that re-wire "frankenstein style" stuff in order to update it.

Same here. I've been on IXtreme 1.6 ever since I first got my 360 back in August '09. Never went online and have always patched wave 4 and above games to wave 3. I have the Older batch of Lite-On drive (June 2009 mfg), hope it's wouldn't cause a problem with this new AP25 check. I haven't upgraded the dashboard yet.

Ok so here is my question..I have a BenQ drive, been banned for over a year, I patch all of my games to Wave 3(They all work, including Fable 3) I am on the beta dashboard 2.0.12416.0..yesterday when I was checking out my system settings I noticed the KINECT SENSOR setting..what I want to know is, do I even have to update my beta dashboard once Kinect comes out because I want to purchase the kinect but I know that the newer beta dashboars dont work with burned games. Basically all I want to be able to do is play the KINECT games and my other burned games. I dont use XBOX live since I am banned(My XBOX doesnt even have the wireless adapter anymore) so just want to be sure I can still play these games..thanks

Yeah but doesnt every game have an update? Ive been playing games for years and never installed any update for any game, including Fable 3 and all games after that..never had any issues..those games involve going on Xbox Live and installing something, but since I already patch them to wave 3 doesnt it not even matter?

So You are saying that New games works with 416 but they dont with 12611(newest beta)

I have no idea, I have not updated, and Im not planning on to unless its confirmed working. I have so many burned games I dont want them all to go to waste by updating so I am sticking with what I have..but since I have already been banned and I see "Kinect Sensor" already on system settings, cant I just connect the Kinect and still play the new kinect games that way just like I have til this point? I dont see the difference between this accessory and the balance board for the Wii..I have burned many games for the Wii that require the balance board and they all work, the KINECT is just another accessory

new games are released with dashboard instalation on disc.
You put in a game disc and it asks to update dash from dvd. You say No -> You dont play.

So update is mendatory unless...

Guys at digiex says that Fable III works with (released 10 minutes ago) 12611 version(still beta). I have it on my hdd already but I am afraid to install it Laughing

Yeah Im too nervous to even do that..because someone on another board said that he updated and now Fable 3 does not work with his XBOX anymore....see all I wanna know is if I can still use my beta dashboard with the kinect when it comes out..I wont be going online with it, just like I dont go online with my Wii and my PS3 move..I mean it should work, after all what is KINECT anyway, just an accessory

Yeah I'm gonna wait too..my system settings says "KINECT SENSOR" on it, so if it wouldnt work it wouldnt even give that option. Hopefully KINECT games start being released so we can check. I was banned a long time ago so I could care less about XBOX live

Yeah, but its the games that look entertaining, at least to me..I mean some people don't like the PS3 move but I think its pretty darn cool. I think it would be great having our bodies as controllers instead of holding a controller

I hope I won't have to have my 360 get reflashed. I don't care about ban as I don't even have it connected to network. Or at least some kind of workaround/disable dash autoupdate or something...

I have the beta dash and a lite-on drive......and i´m banned and i patch all my games to wave 3.....all tahe latest games works for me.
