Source is pretty damn old and HL2 doesn't have the same magic as before. This is an opinion of course.
Yet Source still has one of the best lipsyncing and facial expressions out there, lightyears ahead of Mafia 2 for example, to take a game that should rely on these things but failed to do so.
And I was pretty impressed by the Portal 2 clips, that showed Source still has a lot of room of improvement left. Also its biggest strength to be honest, the engine is probably even more flexible than UE3 is :E
Agreed, I used to think that the Source couldn't impress anymore, but after having watched all the playthroughs from Portal 2, I had to change my mind. The amazing lightning effects (with the improved dynamic shadows) and the detailed textures allow the Source to not pale in front of more modern graphic engines.

Exactly, but even from HL2 > Ep1 > Ep2 you can see the improvements quite clearly. Plus it runs smoothly on an average gaming system, unlike the many console ports we get

Finally I found some time to bring new contents to my website.
After 3 years, where a lot of things happened, I can finally post the teaser trailer from my new WIP project.
This time is a fan movie thing, I've always been in love with the PC game "Half-Life" so I've decided to work out a project that would have been a trailer for an hypothetic feature film of Half-Life. Again, is not live action, althought I would have love to have the chance and the time to work out something like that.
So, here is the teaser, but at the end there won't be any short movie, just a trailer which it will be a lot longer, packed with more contents and telling a little bit about the story.
The whole thing is pretty faithful to the game and based on HL2 I wrote a treatment for the first establishment of the (trilogy?), so think about this as the second episode of a trilogy. Again this is non-commercial, is a fan movie, an homage and all the intellectual properties belongs to Valve Corporation. Enjoy!

It IS coming out. That much we know from the released concept art, the fact that development started on the title before the release of ep2, because they hired the Minerva mod creator to work on it, because Gabe hinted they plan to have Alyx know sign language, because.........
But we don't know WHEN.
