I'm sorry, but how is failing AP25 any indication that you're banned? You might as well say "if you flash iXtreme you're banned" - even though, regardless of flags, you might NEVER get banned. MS don't instantly ban every single person with a flashed box :\ As far as I was aware, AP25 (Anti Piracy 2.5) is a PROTECTION system built into certain, and apparently now recent, games. Saying that you're banned for failing that protection would be the same as saying you would be banned from online functionalities for failing a StarForce check... |
I don't know man... I did not code this program.
Just try it with your banned console and non banned console... I also did it with a console that tried running fable 3 on the new dashboard and it did fail.

So unless I have a sammy drive(which doesn't check for ap25 if i got c4e right), new games wont work until LT+ hits which will probably take forever, right?

I've not updated to the latest dashboard yet because I'm still playing Fable 3 and I have a LiteOn drive, so I'm not sure. I do get the update prompt when I first turn my machine on.. but I deny it.

heh... in due time you'll wake up to the new dashboard and still be unbanned  ms has their ways to make your xbox update by itself. i know sony can.

I didn't know about MS having the ability, but yeah; both Sony and Nintendo have got the option to force update machines (Nintendo had it since SysMenu 4.1) but they've not actually done it to anyone yet. I'll be surprised if I'm still unbanned (four years in a row? AWESOME) but I doubt I will be.

i've survived the last 2 with my samsung box and i've actually done some stupid shit here and there. this last year i played 3 or 4 things i shouldn't have, online, that weren't patched properly.
i pulled my tag off my jtag box and was going to upload it to live monday night from my main box and i noticed it was pushing some update on me. i declined. i'll wait and see how things look. i don't know if the rumors are true about that new dash but i figure a wait and see approach will be ok.
doesn't really matter since the box is red ringing anyway and i have that jtag machine. if it doesn't get banned tho i may finally succumb to all that MW2 online shit i keep hearing so much about.

If only..
A ban also corrupts the gamerprofiles and saves on your harddrive, so they don't work on any other machine than the banned one. This is to prevent you from getting another cheap unit after the ban and just move the harddrive.
You also lose the feature to install games to the harddrive.

You dont lose feature to install games to the harddrive......it was fixed the update of fall ´09.
E: Play with non-flashed console and account on live....and use your banned console for backup games...I dont have the need with the HDD to run between consoles- why shoud anyone!?

I read something about that when the procedure of uncorrupting them was brand new - and it seemed like a big pain in the ass.. how is it nowadays? Somewhat easy?

what you mentioned except achievements. They are stored on the profile, you can then connect whatever you have stored your profile on to a unbanned 360.

It doesn't always happen. And was actually not MS intention. They even gave advise how to retrive the profile and saves.

Un-corrupting profile and saves isn't hard at all if you can hook your hdd to your PC.
Basic steps:
- Hook HDD to PC.
- Use program to browse HDD structure.
- Extract your profile file.
- Run small program to correct corruption bits.
- Run another program to re-sign profile file.
- Put profile file back on HDD through the HDD browsing program from step 2.
- Done.

Thats why I play Arcade games with hacked profile like crazy now.
