Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

Yes! I don't have a JTAG machine so I can't get into specifics, but I know I've read this stuff somewhere.
Something about "re-flashing the XBR image" to overwrite a secdata flag or something..
Also I believe you can do the whole nand dumping thing and overwrite a fix that way.
EDIT: For the nand dumping scenario, looks like a program "FindSecData" is the way to go. I'm seeing version 0.61 as the latest.. But from what I'm reading, the XBR re-flash thing seems infinitely easier than the nand dump method.

I do get the update prompt when I first turn my machine on.. but I deny it. | I also do not update to the latest dashboard. The information is lacking and the ban wave has not been started yet. Maybe there is really a relationship between the new dashboard and the ban?! I don't take the risk.

new games will probably need the new dash because of the new kernel... Then again it will be months before dev compile games with the new SDK unless it's as said before, a kinect game.

Therefore I wait to update the dashboard.

They are probably waiting to rope in as many people as they can to update first, if they banhammer now, too many people will be cautious and they might miss out.

More banned consoles means less Kinect sales and those figures are really important for Microsoft. And the people that buy Kinect first and then get banned are definitely going to rebuy an Xbox.

Just stay offline and wait for more information. It seems that the banhammer has not been used yet.

From 360iso forum:
Quote: | Yesterday i downloaded the new dash to my flashed 360. Figured it was ok to update and keep offline. I just wanted to update so i could play burned kinnect games ( Kinect Games all look like garbage so why waste money) I tested it with Fable to see if i was effect by 2.5 which i was. Figured big deal im offline i can't be banned. So today i switched back to my online 360 to play some mw2 and i found my gamertag was corrupt. I thought to myself oh god no.... my 360 was banned offline. I did not know it was possible. |

Well people always speculated that MS would be including a ban "database" in later updates, so that those who were updating offline would still get banned.

Hmm I wonder what that means. I accidently connected to Xbox Live even though I knew my console was banned (checked via that service thing page). Got message that my box is banned due to violations of TOS. My profile never corrupted and I hope newer dashes don´t corrupt my profile either. I guess it won´t affect me more than that I will loose all achievements. Hope they aren´t doing anything about HDD install this time around. I can´t stand how noisy the console gets when playing from DVD.

Yes, if you have flashed your drive, have the latest dash and insert Fab3 3 they will ban you offline. Unless you have a Samsung or Hitachi drive, they do not have ap2.5
