I think he is on to something with people being disappointed when they discover that the universe is far from what religion 'has promised' it to be.
As a little boy I was told about all of these bible stories and etc.. and I believed them, but when I grew older, it was hard form he to let go of the old ideas, and accept the reality, that as a little boy I was told lies about our reality, and that the universe actually contradicts everything I was told.
I always find myself in awe when I start to think about the vastness of the universe and how tiny I am in comparison, and yet I am made from things that are part of that same universe...
