Weapons? Laughing What, you shoot the popos?

lol they call it weapon , but as long as you can drop something that under your controll from your car to make your follower stop or go slow, it's fine with me:)

i think you can drop spikes or something from what i understood from looking fast at the review.

what a days Smile

Yep, naturally, racers have spike strips in their trunks and EMPs (Laughing) while racing (to hell with vehicle weight and mobility!) in case some popos show up! Laughing

I am disappointed that they have included this feature. But not because of the fact that racers wouldn't carry those types of things. I think that you should have to race your ass off to win, not use a, "tactic," to get them off of your tail (even in the real world, the cops hardly ever have cars as powerful/more powerful than the one(s) they are chasing). I've already logged a couple of hours on the demo trying to beat my friends' times.

I also like the shortcuts. there are tons of them and some lead to other shortcuts that go on for miles. It's a nice touch when you are trying to either gain the upper hand on the AI or trying to get away from the po-lice.

I also think that 16v16 PvP matches would be an awesome feature in an open world. Like DM but with cops and racers/fags. I remember playing Midtown Madness 2, years ago with heavily modded cars playing cops v robbers in a 8v8 match in San Fran at night. Best time I've ever had playing any multiplayer game.

Retarded comparison, most PCs these days should handle the game at 1080p easily, they should allow the PC to use it's real potential and upscale the console versions to 1080p (like Digital Foundry does).

Console screens might look "better" on the first glance, but really all they did (like so often) is slap a blur filter on it to combat aliasing. Without AA, one might think it looks worse on PC, but look at the license plate. On the PC screen you can see the small "NFS" lettering on the left side. On console it's just a blurry mess.

And risk making the console version look worse? Laughing

Well, I'm not gonna join the hatetrain here so here it goes: I can't wait to get my hands on this installment of NFS. The GT review looks promosing to say the least. The whole weapons thing is kinda lame, but maybe it turns out to be really cool. To me, the last REALLY good NFS was NFS4 High Stakes (still play it from time to time) so here's to hoping for a new good NFS.

Btw, what's with the retarded rearview mirror graphics? Looks like a buggy frozen (frozen like in really cold, with ice) mess 0_o

I can't see myself playing this for more than 2-3 days. It really feels boring like the burnout games. The handling is very arcadish, i don't mind arcade games but this looks more arcade than some of the games I have on my cellphone. As for GFX - they are fine but nothing spectacular. The thing that I like on PC is that it has less bloom than the derpbox.

So the car handling is very similar to Burnout?

You didn't know? :O

j/k

I like it when graphics looks nice and sharp but some jagged edges don't really bother me. And when their is fast paced action those edges will disappear because all you see will be the action in front of you. Maybe it's because I've played NFS3 on a P1 133Mhz with a 320x240 resolution in order to get max 15fps that I don't care, I don't know. I'm spoiled (graphics wise) to be honest, but those edges...naah, let them be jaggy, I really don't care.
