Is exploring necessary? Will I find 'hidden' quests and/or items? I have explored a good chunk of the map, but I didn't find any hidden thingies. All locations were quest related untill now.

There is dungeons outside quests, but there is really nothing special inside them except for monsters and if you're lucky, a chest with worthless loot.

@JBeckman: Can you post a screenshot of your explored map? I want to see where all the "hidden" islands is.

Does the mage need accuracy skill for the missile spells or is it for bows only?
I invested a shitload of points in accuracy.........

It's needed for projectile spells, search for accuracy in the .pdf manual that comes with the game..

I read the manual BUT.. all guides fails to mention this, thats why I asked here.
Nowhere in the IGN-guide is accuracy mentioned

I haven't started the game yet. But how diversified are the side quests? Are they Gothic4-like? Go there, kill off a bunch of ignorant orcs, or, go that way and collect 10 daisies? I really don't like to be playing through only the main quest.

Well I'm using firebolt/fireballs mostly, but I use the "homing" card (the one that find targets, I think it's called homing in english) without ricochet/spray cards, so I hit everything

I had no problems so far, I'm on New Ashos, lvl 31 and I'm killing everything with that build Laughing

It varies, sometimes you get lied to, cheated, ripped off, used or other complications occur and sometimes it's standard deliver this or kill that or go here, some are a bit more involved and can have several "steps" to them and there are faction specific missions albeit the benefits are simplified here so you'll easily get 100% in everything after some time, those job and mission posts also refresh regularly as you complete quests and advance the storyline so return often. Smile
(I've done close to a hundred quests so far if I were to estimate, might count them later.)

As for maps and hidden islands as the screen I posted with the "Guardian" showed there are some things to see and discover in the isles, I'll do a better map image shortly but so far I've found one island with some ingredients on it, one island blocked off and part of a later quest, one island with ruins and a portal on it but it was unusable though looked really nice and finally that mini-island with the Guardian on it (Not the NPC guard variety as the image showed, hah.)

All others have been empty aside from scenery but I've only really explored outside of the jungle based island, about to return and finish up the desert area as there's two or so islands there plus the mid-sized island between these larger ones, must be something there unless it's just for show seeing how remote it is plus it's large size. Smile

Unsure if there's any unmarked locations on the map or if everything is filled in and just covered in fog, the places on the largest island you can land on does have a variety of stuff there but there's no specific purpose to it.
(Scapulari camp, wolf den with some ingredients, small forest clearing and so on.)

Mostly, and even if you use "Jump2" or the other commands to force move yourself forward past any obstacle it'll teleport you back to the nearest "safe" shore landing area.

If you do get past this the world is pretty barren so there's nothing to see really and overall it's very undetailed aside from basic grass and tree placement minus the parts of the island that are used for the MP "campaigns" and the sections that do take part in SP which you can reach normally as you progress trough the chapters. Smile

EDIT: The boat can be found at this location.

Skills will show up in the toolbar under numbers 1-3 when you equip the appropiate weapon.

Is there any way to map my mouses thumb buttons and middle button to 1,2,3 via an external app so I can use my thumb buttons for skills?

Spinal cords (Werebeasts for example.) allows you to jump 3 times higher than normal if mixed as potion, spells also have this effect (Air I think.)

Don't know the item code for termite eggs unfortunately but there's a ongoing list here - http://twoworldsvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Guides.Detail&id=27

Thanks for the help. Why didnt I think of a levitation spell...

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Sure, use autohotkey, piss easy, elementary things like this are covered in the tutorial section.

A mix of all three actually, not very many of the active skills leveled though and the mage specific skills are at a very low level so I can't stack those spell cards and modifiers very high but I get by pretty well, not leveling up much at all though due to the XP requirements rising quite quickly once you get close to 50 and most situations are pretty easy to handle now.
(Still get the occasional point for killing, picking locks, forging/upgrading and activating teleporters so I've maximized quite a bit although the basic attributes for wisdom and accuracy are a bit on the low side.)

You'll face stronger enemies but from how I've experienced it that's mostly for some of the quests and the later half of the second act.

You can explore and find a variety of things but the enemies are rather weak initially if you've been thorough with the first act (Savannah themed island.)

Now and then you might meet a stronger variant of the giant spider but that's mostly for cave areas (Of which there's very few from what I've noticed.) and the occasional panther (Basically a "better" cheetah creature.) or vespine (Giant bee thing, though rare outside of quests.) and a Drakonai or two (Sort of works as a better bear creature though not very comparable.) but it's not until you've made some progress that the difficulty truly increases and you'll face some new and stronger challenges. Smile

Nice to see a lot of the TW1 monsters returning as well and that there's some new and redesigned ones.
(Though the Varns got pretty gimped and aren't much more threatening than the mid-range Gromm aside from the leader type.)

EDIT: Further images (Taken yesterday, not done much further than this though.)

Resistances makes initial magic a bit problematic and spreading out too much weakens you a bit, spirit and poison is usually effective but can be resisted and some creatures can also resist these unlike in the first game.

Creating effects and combining them to create multiple damage types is also useful but will take more mana, even more so if you add effects like homing or damage booster and the mana regeneration is quite slow though there is a spell that improves that as well from what I remember, potions are always handy.
(Better staffs and equipment to boost willpower as well, it doesn't quite increase damage like it's stated to do but it does increase it and improves mana capacity, staff damage is for when you block with it and as you're doing so attack and uses it to swing with instead of casting spells.)

It's not hard to find cards actually. At level 16 I pretty much own all the enemies as a mage. I mostly use firebolt.Icebolt is good on scorpions because it's their only weakness. I thought that I will go multiclass, but I'm not so sure about that right now. I want to max out all the mage skills and some of the crafting skills and I don't know if I will be able to increase the other classes too after that. Also, most of the warrior skills seem pretty useless to me, just like in the first game. Also, about the lockpicking... I didn't invest any skill points in that and I managed to lockpick even advanced locks just with the level one lockpick skill. I like the lockpicking system, it's not only about the skill, it's about the player's concentration and skill too. This game gains more lenght because of the replayability, I think. In the first game it wasn't that hard to max out all the skills. But in this one it is. As I said I don't know how much I can invest in the other classes after I max out what I want.
